2000 chrysler minivan would not start, changed
Hi,
Thanks for writing to Fixya.com.
A clicking noise from the starter indicates usually a dead or dying battery, and sometimes a dead starter. This may be a common problem on 3.3 family engines as they grow older. A single click from under the hood on an attempted start could mean a bad starter relay. If the battery's in fine fettle, there are a few other problems that could cause your car to refuse to start. First, check the gas. A perfectly running, recently tuned car died and would not restart. It turned out to be the ignition rotor. The bad rotor was only a couple weeks old and looked perfect. There was spark at the spark plugs so that test alone is no indication. Thank You for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.
Cant find where the relay is located on the car?
Which relay? Your best bet for locating relays is to get the Haynes Repair manual on your vehicle and look it up in that. Most relays are located in the Engine compartment if they deal with the power train, the relays that deal with interior stuff are normally located under the dash.
My 91 Legend idles funny when I start it up it
the port is probably under your steering wheel, like above where your feet and legs sit. you need an OBD1 (on board diagnostic) scanner. Some places do it free, some charge, or you can buy the cheaper one at auto zone for like 50 bucks. or the nice one for like 300. call around and see who will do it for free :)
I need a new paint job. How can i go about it
without the proper tools your wasiting you time, you would need a DA sander a voard sander a spray gun and a whole lotta learning experince. You could rattle can it, and in that case buy 5 cases of Krylon paint that matches the color you want and go for it.
Battery died after braking lights
Hi,
Sorry to hear your having trouble,
First let's get brake lights to turn off. For now - just remove the bulbs DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THIS - -this is just for repair purposes.
Now be sure the battery is fully charged. Install the battery and turn the head lights on. They should be VERY BRIGHT. If the battery is truly charged to it's fullest.
You do not say what kind of car so I will post this and ask you to confirm you are attempting this much - please do this and get back to me:
1- Place the fully charged battery in the automobile.
2- Set the emergency brake at it's fullest
3- With all lights off and the brake light bulbs removed [ for test purpose]
4- Place the transmission in neutral
5-Turn the key and start the vehicle.
6- Get back to me with further comment or question.
Thanks

Car turns over but wont
Hi!!
If the starter is turning but the motor doesn't start up, it could be lack of fuel or spark. Most security systems when activated, cut power to both circuits. I would say YES, your security system could be an issue.
Turn ignition switch on and listen for a humming noise coming from the fuel pump, (inside the fuel tank), it lasts about 2 seconds, and it does it everytime you turn on the ignition. If you hear this noise, your fuel electrical circuit is working. Using a spark plug tester, check for spark on any plug,
Let me know if I could be of any more help. Good luck.
Hello, i just had a
Ok a dead battery could be a couple things #1 bad battery #2 sitting parked for a while # 3 the car has a electrical draw somewhere in the circuit (worst case scenario as electrical draws are very hard to find and take alot of time)
Could be as easy as the interior light stays on after you shut the doors for the night or could be something a insane as a constant power wire in the dash has rubbed through and has shorted to ground.
the repairs like heater core and what not arent to bad. dont be fooled tho, a heater is a big job on that car. the erratic idle is probably the idle air control module and can be picked up from scrap yard.
Let me start by saying i love hondas and acuras I have had several and own one presently.
my opinion... i wouldn't buy it. too much to fix and in my experience the old Legends were electrical nitemares! I understand fixer uppers are cheaper etc but you may want to leave that fixer upper alone
Just saying thats my opinion
