It sounds like a loose connection on the temp sender unit or a faulty sender unit. Check the coolant level in the radiator ( not the reservoir) as you may need water and it is the boiling water hitting the sender that is causing the spikes.

brake cable is probly hanging up inside case that cable runs through. needs to be replaced. you will burn your brakes out.

Either fit a manual gearbox or change the gearbox for a recon unit ,other than that trade it in on plan previa and get 2500E on it against a new car but this time buy a manual .You one has a clutch operating piston failed or a brake band worn out but what ?well without stripping the box who knows

Have you checked the temp sensor ?

If you have not removed the distributor, and you are sure you have good compression, it would have to be a broken distributor.The distributor is driven off the cam.

if the alarm is a factory alarm, sitch the key in the drivers side door and turn it both ways.

...Had a similar problem with a Mercury that wouldn't shift...turned out to be a fuses that controlled multiple circuits including the gear shift stabilizer that was locked in PARK,,,the giveaway was the fact that directionals did not work...was hard to find because continuity check was good but the cracked fuse would fail when power was applied!

You might want to take your car to Autozone and have them perform a free scan to bring a code and give a starting point.
