On 1980 Cadillac there is no cutoff switch, On EFI CAR they arecontroled by the computer control module, on DFI CARS there is RELAY next to the fuse also has fusePanel on the left side of car under dashDepends on size of engine. EFI CARS only have a 20 amp fuse.

You burned out a fusible link at the starter motor. The wiring is shorted to ground down there somewhere. Raise the car up and inspect for the damaged wiring and then replace the fusible link. The links are color codes for amperage, most are 30 amperes.

there are 2 things that come to mind 1 is the heater fuse and relay an is different from the 2nd is a heater resisitor that is eather mounted on top of heater blower box or on fire wall under hood on passengers side it will look like a small metal box close to ac box with 3 wires coming out of it , size is 2in,by 1 in square

Trunk light or glove box light.

Along with all the other fuses.

Fuel pump operation is controlled by the fuel pump relay, located in the relay center.

Follow the water hose to the engine block. Will be 2-3 screws to remove, thermostat is in the housing

Did you ever figure out the problem just wondering I'm having the same problem out pf my 1981 Cadillac eldorado biarritz one sides cool the driver side passanger sides hot and it misses bad

locate green connector in the wiring harness coming directly out of the ECM. ECM located under dash on the passengers side behind glove box.with engine running connect the single terminal in this connector to a good ground.

A Haynes or Chilton manual will tell you that.

How about timing chain being worn & gears stripped ?Put a timing light on it, then put the pick up on a wire half way thru the firing order & see if they timing isthe same.
