This is defenetly the BCM, I had a 1990 with all of the same problems. Buy a rebuilt and install it behind the clove box. Remember that you must install you memory prom into the new unit as they don't come with any in them (it is what is memorizing your miles driven.) You will get off pretty easy on this one as they are available and not too expensive.

Check spark, check fuel pressure first.

Your starter is only used while starting the engine. It will not make an engine die while it is running.

Don't know the part number, but you can install this in the trans pan, or much easier in one of the lines to the cooler, preferably the one flowing out from the trans.

You may be getting it from the oil or trans. cooler in the radiator. Get a donor radiator from pullapart.

This is not something that you should do. It requires special tools and equipment. You need to remove the Freon and capture it. Also remove the oil that is in the system. Then you check the Orifice tube and replace the part. You then put the oil back in and vacuum the air out of the system for several hours. Then you put the Freon back in.

I had same problem with my 89 cad. deville , I changed the BCM and since then no problems and everything works great now for over a year
