Hi Ahunley, Sounds like you have cross the connection wires to the unit ( positive to earth & earth to positive) Try swapping the connectors over. Hope this works. kind regards David

Should be the Computer Control (engine) Module.

If there is a dedicated fuse for the leveling air compressor, remove it, or disconnect the power at the compressor.

It is up under the dash. Turn signal flasher is on one side of the column and the 4 way is on the other. 4 way is round and the turn signal is rectangular.

Be sure the bolts on the backing plate are removed and then put a slide hammer on the lug nuts and pull the bearing out, it is on the end of the shaft in the hub just behind the lug nuts.

Surging on start up is normal for the Cadillac with a Northstar V-8. The car will feel like it rocks forward and back because the engine is mounted sideways and the rotating mass of the crankshaft rotates front to rear direction.

Check your circuit breaker and relays (owner's manual will tell you which breaker or relay is for the dash lights). You may have a "circuit breaker" that shuts off when heated and then starts up again when cold. Replace the circuit breaker with another one from the car and see if the problem. I solved, you have a bad circuit breaker. If that's the case, replece the circuit breaker. If not, you have a bad ground or short in the system, so get the system checked.

i am guessing that engine and distributor are all original. if so firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Distributor turns in clockwise rotation with #1 being on drivers side middle of distributor facing front. The cylinder layout is front to back drivers side 1-3-5-7 passenger side 2-4-6-8. Go to one of the parts sellers website. Autozone, Advanceauto, ect. Enter the information about your car and it will show the starter that will fit your car.

Almost certainly if it comes from another '93. Probably, if it comes from a vehicle within a couple of years either way. Most auto parts stores can tell you which starters are either compatible or the same from year to year.

change the relay or light switch.

Till they are snug which means until your fingers cant tighten them anymore. ...then turn on the car and watch for leaks...no leaks...your good...if it leaks...tighten 1/8 of a turn equally to all housing bolts. Repeat looking for leaks. If it has a gasket (which Im sure it should) the gasket alone should be enough to fill the void when the bolts are snug.
