Honda jazz 2006 (left abs sensor fail)
left what? front?
that is the folly of seeing a DTC and just guessing?
first off the ABS brain has no idea at ALL what part is bad.!!!!
it only reports,d. a test that failed, or as called monitors.
the tech (pro) looks at this as only clue (its real) and checks the whole system.
1: sure bad sensor (rare undamaged), sure, (look) full of dirt clods , for sure. bashed to death? sure. visuals are a top thing.
2: damage to wires at sensor or connector , look for corrosion too. in conn...
3: brakes bad, !! oops, it warning you early and saved your bacon....
think for a moment, if the ABS fires off, and attempts to slow a wheel
and the brakes are weak or sticking (locking up too) then it has no
idea on earth why? only that it IS wrong, and it dont know if the sensor is bad (rare if no damage seen) or brakes are Fubar.
i'd have taken off the wheel.
1: and a full visual on brakes, and sensor.
2: bad pads, bad caliper pistions (sticking) or air in system. or caliper slide pins seized, or rotor warped or Gawd forbid cracked,
3: wheel bearings loose (bad) or seizing (double bad.),
just focus on wheel RPM, what can make it wrong.
LOTS !!!!
if rear wheel?, add ebrake to ploy. all you said is left.
some cars are even more complex. 4wd.
