I need to drain the gas tank to fill with premium gas & drive for 50 miles to reset the emissions computer.
there is an anti siphon device in the tube
There is no need to empty the gas tank at all ( unless diesel has been added wrongly) because the computer in the ECM continually checks the tune up of the engine (60 times a second)
just add the new fuel and the computer will keep adjusting the tuning of the motor accordingly up to and past when all there is is new fuel in the tank
emissions are continually being monitored and the engine settings are continually being reset to stay with in the preset parameters of the program in the ECM
My 2001 V70 XC steering is locked and I cannot turn the Key.I have tried cranking on the wheel but does not seem to free up.
My wife had this problem twice - for two different reasons, as it turned out. The first time, the car was not really in park. The AAA mechanic shifted the car to neutral then through all the gears a couple times, then back to park and made sure it set firmly. The key turned fine after that. The second time it was because the key was worn. We used our backup ignition key (which is much less-frequently used and thus much less worn) to turn the ignition switch and release the wheel. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Rough idle in 740 1990 Volvo Smooths out a bit when driving
When it idles rough it could be several things but, an easier thing you can do 1st is cleat the throttle body of any carbon(black stuff) with throttle body cleaner or something like carb cleaner. Ive used brake cleaner sometimes. But yea, look up your cars info about your motor and just clean all the black carbon off of anything at the throttle body and you may even need to take some of it apart to get down in there with a rag, little cleaning brush and the cleaner. Clean the thing you can move by hand called a "butterfly".
Break switch
The brake switch is located in a threaded mount above the pedal itself. Optionally, it is screwed into a T piece with a vacuum valve for cruise control.
Where is the break switch
It is attached at the top of the brake pedal. Lay down backwards and look up towards the dashboard guts.
Power steering stiff and jumpy...when the weel is
I would change the belt first. Power steering is required for all turning but does get a little more usage during hard turns. You will want to check the fluid levels of the power steering pump as well.
