1994 volvo 850, there is no current going to the fuel pump, pump fuse is ok and have put a wire to the alarm relay 50e, 50f but still there is no current going to the fuel pump.

have you done any work on the car or any accidents. anything could have happened but sounds like you have a bad ground or clipped wire check that. you might have to run a new wire to the pump from the fuse box. that is what i would do.

The malfunction indicator lamp is on what dose that mean?

The engine computer has discovered a problem and it is signalling you about it. There is an "On Board Diagnostic (OBDII) connector under the dash that a scanner can be polugged intoto to retriecve the error code or codes that are causing the light to illuminate. The codes define the nature of the techncial problem. A dealship cna do this for you (for a fee) but most any auto parts store will do it for free (they want to sell parts to fix the problem!)

Why is the malfunction indicator lamp on?

the malfunction lamp is on to tell you that there is a fault in the system of the engine and/or gear box. It requires you to have the fault codes read and to have the fault fixed. It is there to notify you that something has gone wrong and to have it fixed before it becomes expensive.

How to change a battery in a 96 volvo850

undo the negative on the battery. ( immobilizer model) turn key to number 2 on the ignition as you would if starting the engine, then turn off back to 0. now you have 30 seconds to pull the negative lead off. with lead off push and support the wire to the side out of the way of the battery, then remove the positive lead from the battery and do the same to this wire as the negative move out of the way. Now you can remove the battery holding bracket or bolt. spray some wd40 on this before you start. remove the battery and check that the cage that the battery is in good condition any rust clean up and spray a new coat of paint on it. ( I usually put an old carrier bag on there if there is no plastic tray fitted, or a garden bag as so it will cover the battery when fitted.) when all clean and ready for the battery put the battery back in and secure it back down. then connect the positive lead I usually put some grease on the battery poles before refitting helps stop the battery being eaten by its self. then after this is done connect the negative it will spark but don't worry about this as it will do, secure the bolt down and cover over the battery if you have one or made one. now depending if you have the original radio fitted you will need to put the code back in to the radio. and after this is done the battery has be done now. just the time etc to be done if you want to engine sould start as normal.

Hi i got a 94 850 turbo i was driving one day i have automatic so i pressed sport mode to pass someone i went from 35 to 55 then a loud pop bang whatever you call it came and i felt no power at all i

I used to have one of these a long time ago, what you have done is blown the turbo, you will need another one. if you ever have a turbo problems you should have it fix as soon as possible turbos are not cheap. engine is in limp mode and will not be using the turbo or the timing so you will be on slow speeds.

Key will only go in part way in the drivers side door and the door will not stay shut

you will need to remove the lock and catch. you will probably find the pin has fell out. but you will still need to remove the lock to fix it back in place. remove the door card you will need some duck tape to put the cover back on that covers the inside door cover. remove the lock and. also when the key part is remove soak it in some oil for a few hours then clean off and try it before putting back into the door.
