You can use Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid, such as Castrol Import Multi Vehicle. Pump off as much of the old fluid as possible with the pump from a shampoo bottle top, then add the ATF fluid. Don't overfill.

I would guess that if you are having Vacuum problems that you need to replace the Flame Trap System. IPD has everything you need including the Intake Manifold Gasket. It is very self explanatory how it goes on.

Test compression and if good, replace the plugs, cap rotor and wires. If that does not resolve it. Take it to a shop.

Knock sensors are on the side of the engine block under the intake manifold. Bank 2 would be the sensor closest to the transmission above the starter as I recall.

Black smoke indicates a rich or too much fuel condition. First thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator on the injector fuel rail. Pluu the vacuum hose off and look for signs of fuel in the vacuum hose. They will rupture the diaphragm and suck fuel in to the intake. Can also be caused by a faulty 02 sensor, bad MAF sensor or bad coolant temp sensor. If the check engine light is on check codes and post the codes.

There should be a couple of screws at the underside of the top of the cluster plastic trim. Remove them and pull the trim off. Now 4 visible screws. remove and unplug the cluster
