Check engine light stays on.
There are three ways to reset a check engine light.
1. Disconnect the battery, wait approximately 30 minutes, reconnect the
battery. This resets the cars computer which also reset the check engine
light. On newer OBD (on-board diagnostic) compliant vehicles this
usually does not work. See step 2.
2. Reset using an OBD II reader. When you hook an OBD II code reader up
to your vehicle, you can reset the computer using the code reader.
3. Fixing the problem. Generally the check engine light comes on for a
reason. Usually it is emission related (sensors, gas cap) or electrical
(faulty wiring). In this case the way to reset the check engine light is
to fix the problem
Hi, I have a 1999 Volvo S80 2.4 auto. Recently the temperature gauge on the car either has not moved to the halfway mark (it only moves a couple of bars) and will stay there or it will, after a short
Typically a thermostat stuck open will cause the gauge not to move because the water/engine will not heat up. If you havent already, I Suggest you see if the local Advanced auto, dealer or someone who can read the engine temperature with an infrared thermostat so you can see if the problem is the guage/sending unit and also read the fault codes if you have check engine lights of any kind on your dash. With these codes I will be able to tell you exactly what needs to be fixed/replaced. Could be an ECU, sensor, relay, fuse, bad ground etc. My name is Tim, I work for a company called AutoEcu1 we see all kinds of different ecu ecm tcu tcu abs ebcm throttle body climate control etc etc etc from any given vehicle about 1986 up 2011 or newer. I am more then happy to help you resolve this quickly and correctly feel free to post here or call when you get the codes or if you have questions.
Regards,
-Tim

99 Volvo s80 2.9 not taking fuel what could be
First, check the fuel rail and make sure it is building pressure. Take the cap off the nipple (it looks and works like a tire pressure valve stem). If no pressure, first make sure a clogged fuel filter isn\'t the problem. The fuel pump is accessed under the back seat if you\'re not getting fuel to the filter. If that doesn\'t solve the problem, give me more info as to what you have done and when the problem started.
How to replace a heater core in a 1999 S80 volvo
It is a hard job.Remove the two side panel on driver side.Drain any coolant from radiator.Move brake switch out of the way. Move seat as far back as you can.Remove clips holding hoses to heather core, pull hoses off it,slide them out of the way, pull heater core out.reverse procedure to install. You may need to replace the 2 clips and 2 o rings seals..I have done it laying on my back on the floor with my head under the dash.
How to replace thermostat in 1999 volvo
Don't just change just the thermostat... change the sensor located in the thermostat housing (if your engine is overheating). The whole works is located inside the timing cover. Sockets: You'll need a 10mm for the timing cover and the 3 bolts on the thermostat cover, and an 8mm for the sensor harness bolts. Then you'll need a 3/4 open end wrench for the sensor.
Volvo s80 clock
Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem. The fuse will likely be for part of the instrument cluster.
If you aren't seeing any other issues, then it's probably a problem with the clock.
On the other hand, if you are seeing other issues, there is a possibility that it is the processor (yes, there's a separate processor for dashboard functions and instruments).
