The ceramic pads are worth the extra money, due to the increase in the quality of the pads, slotted rotors, not so much. Original equipment is a 192 degree thermostat. If the car tends to run a little hot, a lower temperature one maybe considered. There is no PVC.

hi, what the code is telling is that you need to get the temperature senor replaced doing this should also solve your ac problem due to the face that without the temp sensor working the ac wont know how hot the engine is to set the correct temp for the ac so changing the temp sensor should solve the ac problem as well.

If how ever the temp sensor dont fix the ac then the chances are your ac just needs re-gassing and this can be done by any garage for a small fee.

try adjusting your throttle wire on the throttle body.

First check the spark plug ,wires and coils ,the check the fuel injectors fuel filter you can start with that.

Sounds like the fuel pump, as the levels of the fuel tank drop, there's less natural pressure on the fuel, which would definitely make it harder to start with a weak fuel stream from a bad pump.

will be ok compressor will not operate until system is gassed pulley will just freewheel . the oil will be put in when system is gassed a pressure switch in the air con pipe prevents it operating until at correct pressure

Factory Volvo radios have electronic locks in them to prevent theft. Any time that power is disconnected from the radio a code must be re-entered to make the radio operational again. This code is available from any Volvo dealer's service department but most of them want you to appear in person with the car (to prove ownership) before they will give the code. The instructions for entering the code are in the owners manual or can be easily described by the dealer.

Just a quick suggestion, if it ran better before it was tuned up, than it was something that was done when it was tuned up, open the hood and look around carefully for a vacuum hose that was left off, around the throttle body area, under the air cleaner etc.. make sure all the hose connections are tight by feeling them with your hands. look for loose clamps. Countless numbers of times i find these problems on customers cars. People rush to get work done and these things get missed. Other option, take it back to whoever tuned it. You may have accidentally switched off the STC. Your car battery voltage may bee too low (this should remedy itself after a while driving). There may be damage to the breaks.

Best thing to do is to take it to the Volvo-service and let the guys check the system with their diagnostic software.

it needs an E.T.M and E.T.M valve clean out i have done hundreds of these but its very hard to explain some parts of doing the job in an email i suggest you go to volvo mechanic with the car and ask for him to show you the parts that you have to clean.

If your car climbs a hill or comes from a complete stop to a moderate engine speed without dragging or stalling than you can rule out the catalytic converter. In order to check for a vacuum leak, just take a can of WD-40 or any spray oil and shoot it under the air flow sensor bellows and around the intake manifold including any vacuum trees you might find. While your doing this listen carefully for any changes in engine speed. This will help to pinpoint the leak. Regarding the check engine light, your "most" probable cause would be an oxygen sensor. You don`t just turn it off,it has a brake problem,the brake liners are bad somewhere,or there is a bad wheel sensor on one of the wheels,the lights are telling you to see about the problem.

You have an evaporative emissions leak somewhere. This could be any of the rubber hoses associated with the fuel vapor return system from the intake manifold to the vapor canister, to the gas tank. It could also be a that the gas cap was not tightened properly or has failed in some way.
I just went through this on an 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee and found most all rubber hoses were cracked and needed replacing.

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.
