HELLO Rebelsfruit,
Year make & model would HAVE at help...
I would love to help you with your
restoration project:
You are currently listed under Volvo S60 ...failure to
Disclose the size & NATURE of your "
Shredded" wires
is a LOGISICAL issue on your end (just make sure
the gage, type size and insulation of every "PATCH"
is EXACTLY correct... and if the wires are "twisted" or
braided... That "TWIST" must be duplicated
exactly.
(ditto...
color (I would recommend a salvage yard
or
NEW harness before ever recommending a
ROOKIE
field engineering solution)).
Solder and HEAT-SHRINK tubing are the correct way
to put in all your splices... (patching).
The fact that ALL your lights are on is an
EXCELLENT
indication... Your system is designed to do that as
part of your INITIALIZATION...
(all the wiring to the dash & the indicators are ALL good
(
remove power)).
In order to get DEEPLY into your
sophisticated ELECTRONIICS
You
MUST observe ELECTRO-STATIC DISCHARGE (
ESD) precautions.
Cheap $6 wristband (wear it...!!)

ELECTRO-STATIC DISCHARGE (
ESD) precautions.
(again... cannot be stressed enough)
ESSENTIALLY
That means you do nothing that would generate
ANY SPARKS (you might not even feel) around or near
DELICATE SEMICONDUCTORS you care about...
While vehicular ECU/ECM prices are astoundingly
low... (popular) That only indicates to me that there
is a whole lot of INCOMPTENCE out there...
ASO IMPERATIVE... cheap/cheesy volt meters can
damage SEMICONDUCTOR just as surely as a
bullet...
Buy a tone TRACER and learn how to use it...
((trace only ISOLATED WIRES ))...
Only restore power after every engine WIRE
HAS been traced from end to end...!!
