Replace you valve cover gasket and tube seals. When installing valve cover back onto the head make sure the seals go around the tubes and don't get pinched.

How to replace 1991 honda civic front wheel bearing

Using worn parts to replace worn parts is never a good idea, unless you just love working on your car just to tell people you are working on your car! Presses are fairly inexpensive!! And bearings are not that hard to press in and out. I have several cars that I do all the mechanical work myself, so for me a press is waranted and nessasary. Once the first side you do is done the second side takes 1/3 as long to do!

My honda 1991 crx model hf will not start. when I turn on switch starter does not engage so engine does not even try to turn over. lights, horns, and fans are strong so I believe it not to be battery

To check if it is the ignition switch remove the small wire from the starter and place a multimeter on the wire to earth you will have 12v dc when you put the switch in the start position IF this is so remove the starter as it will be either the starter solenoid or a s/ motor fault

Car was running then just quit and won't start. 3/4 tank of gas. will turn over rapidly

Really sounds like a broken timing belt. Such a problem "sounds like" you hooked 2 car batteries to the starter at once and it seems to crank twice as fast as normal. For sure, remove the cap on the valve cover where you add motor oil.Take a good flashlight and peer intently inside. You will see the top of a valve and the valve spring just to the right of the opening. Have a helper crank the engine. If it is a broken timing belt, the starter will turn the craknkshaft, but the valve will stay motionless.

Code 17 speed sensor. Does speedometer work? there is an assembly at the top right of the transmission from which a cable runs to the speedometer. A non working speedometer isn't a massive failure and you can Google how to fix it.

What are the sympyoms of water pump failure in my1991 honda civic dx?

Bearing rattle should be noticeable leaks water after driving (check right after you stop) from the weep hole. You can.check function this way:Start vehicle on level ground, remove radiator cap, wait for engine to reach operating temp. If you see water circulating, the pump is operable. If you notice the other two symptoms the pump may be on its way out/ if you continue to drive it, this may cause the serpentine belt (timing belt which drives the pump) to over work as the pump bearings become more difficult to make their revolutions and you could break the timing belt which will cause massive engine damage.

Cold start running rich

Hi Malcolm, The cold start operation on all vehicles increases and enriches the fuel to air ratio, making it easier for the engine to start. Most systems also incorporate an 'up idle' which runs the engine at a faster speed until the temperature begins to rise. Regards John
