1999 Honda Accord - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My 1999 Honda accord will turnover, but will not start
lets look at the basics to get a vehicle to start.
air: make sure there are no obstructions in the air box and tube leading to intake.
fuel: turn the key to accessory and listen for the fuel pump to make a noise (it is helpful to have an assistant listen as you may hear other noises inside the vehicle)
spark:
part one: ensure the battery is fully charged.
part two: check the ensure that the ignition system is operational.
many parts stores sell a cheap inline spark tester that can be installing onto any plug wire and will have a light to show if there is spark.
once you have crossed these off the list then it is time for further examination. usually one of these three items lead to the reason.
Cheers!

What solenoid controls shift 1st to 2cnd?
If it is a standard transmission, might be your linkage is bent or gummed up or may need lubed, or it could be in need of a new throughout bearing, if it is an automatic a pump internally might be malfunctioning
Where are the transmission shift solenoids on a 1999 honda accord
Hey Barry, I included an image of tranny, some are external but some are internal , even I rearly test my own tranny solenoid due to the complexity and the chance of getting it wrong , there are a lot of tranny shops that will scan your tranny FREE and give you a report . buyer beware ! make sure the shop is of a high reputation.
