My gas gauge does not work. My car runs fine. What could cause this? If it was the sending unit wouldn't the fuel pump stop working to?
If you're fuel gauge stopped working, this would not affect the fuel pump or pump relay. More then likely, the sending unit is at fault. You may check fuses to see if this vehicle has a fuse for the gauge. some do. The fuel pump has a relay under hood and also a 30 amp fuse.Has separate circuits for gauges.I would be looking at the sending unit.

1995 subaru impreza speedometer stopped working and the engine light came on and stays on. This happened as we were driving down the freeway. Any suggestions?
i had this problem with mine if your cable spins wen the car is moving its not the gear box end or the cable its the speed sensor in the speedo its self its very easy to fix you have to strip the speedo out of the case the sensor is only small and on the under side of the speedo the sensor is about 50 mm long and 10 mm wide change that and it should be ok
oh remember to reset your ecu

Can anyone tell me where I can find my transmission fluid dipstick in my 1995 subaru legacy wagon (automatic)? Also, do put the fluid in the same spot that I check the levels? Thanks
The Dipstick is on the driver side right next to the starter and yes you also put the fluid in there.

Hi. We need to replace the thermostat on our '95 Subaru Legacy. I'm trying to verify just where the thermostat is on the car. Is there a website that might walk us through the process?
Thanks,
Denise
I have a 95 Legacy Wagon and by the shop manual the therostat sets on the bottom of the water pump. It is accessed from the bottom of engine by 2 bolts that hold the lower hose on.

This morning I went out to start the car and the engine would turn over, but it would not start. It has fuel in it and the battery is strong. I am not familiar with fuel injection so I don't know where to start troubleshooting.
You can start by checking the fuel pump and testing it for current but it may also be in the starting system so check to see if the starting solenoid is working properly.

I am wanting to change my own oil. What kind of oil does a '95 Subaru Legacy take...is it 10W-30? Also, What kind of oil filter should I get?
Oil is 10-30 and the type of oil filter is up to you, you can go cheap or you can go expensive it is all up to you what you want to run in your car.
