What does the code p1143
Hello there!
P1143 Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input Possible Causes
* Pressure sensor vacuum line damaged, loose or disconnected * Pressure sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to ground * Pressure sensor reference (5v) circuit is open or shorted to ground * Pressure sensor has failed
Tests/Procedures:
Check for a 5 volt reference on the reference wire Check the voltage on the signal signal wire. 4.0-4.2V KOEO (key on engine off), 2.0-2.3V with manifold vacuum applied. And be sure it has a good ground key on engine off and running.

Engine will turn but will not start
Hi there:You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing...- Spark- Fuel- CompressionAll three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
I own a 1997 subaru legacy gt car wont start, turns over but wont start was running okay before this happened
Hello
The
Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual
transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically
controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control
Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or
other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a
record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this,
like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor
for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read
these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a
special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform
the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)
DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED
THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT
MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for
correct spec for your make and engine type.
Subaru legacy 1997 shudders when accelerating through changing gears car is automatic
if this happens while the engine is cold please run it idle once to start in the morning then drive and if it does always then. put the gear to neutral with the brakes on and push the accelerator slowly to higher side to see if engine is smooth if it shakes or shudders or engine seems to un stable use carburettor cleaner with the engine roaring say around 2000-2500 rpm. just spray from the opening intake of the air filter on top of the engine. spray two to three times, if it does not work remove the top cover of air filter remove the air filter and close the cover then try again. if it still does not help take the car to service station to check for all hydraulic oil and clutch oil. are you sure that engine oil is on top indicator or it is low. this could also be the reason and the engine could cease also.better first check for the engine oil level on the oil dipstick.usually located near the fan belts of the engine front side
Aligment timing belt
Check serpentine belt if it broke you will lose power because it runs your altenator and water pump hence no power and over heating if it is it is a easy fix if u have patience if not limp it to a repair shop hope this helps
