My car's check engine light has been on for quite awhile and after driving about 5 - 10 minutes the tcs light usually came on. The car shut off while stopped a few times and so we had a tune up and cleaned off the spark plugs and now the car is shaking badly while idling or driving(not as bad when driving). I bought some engine booster to put in with a full tank of gas, that was suggested by someone to help with the shaking. The check engine light is now constantly flashing and the tcs light is constantly on. We need help!!
Use an OBDII scanner, some auto parts stores will do this for you free of charge.
Codes P0300 through P0306 indicate mis-fire and you may also get codes reflecting Cat damage from running that way.
I know of one TL from this series (2000 3.2 TL) which had a warranty REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION!!! free of charge and this very problem was solved. I still do not know why they were related. Talk to Acura customer relations about this.

How do I turn off the Check Engine light on Acura TL 3.2 1999
You can turn off the Check Engine light by either disconnecting the battery or by using a code reader to clear the codes. However, if the problem still exists it will come right back on. Instead you should get the code read, find out what the problem is, and fix it. Your local autozone or checker auto parts store will read them for free.

My 99 Acura TL has a TCS Code light up, what does that mean??
I will add that when this light is on it means the trans has a fault/problem, no matter the fault code number of which there are about a dozen

My car has recently started cutting off or not wanting to start. It will sometimes cut off while going down the road and turn itself on. I have been told it may be a ?Mass Auto Sensor. The car just recently stopped going in reverse and makes a horrible noise if I try to put it in reverse. Does this sound like a problem with a transmission fork?
The problem is the ignition wiring harness, as described in the May 2002 Recall 02V120000. I tried to get Acura to replace it a second time (first time they replaced it was at 75K miles) with no success. Car started stalling/restarting again at 200K miles. I bought the part mentioned in the recall (~$70) and installed it myself - have not had a reoccurrence since.

the gps on my 2005 acura tl says there is a disc read error-incorrect disc. I ejected the dvd and there were no scratches and put a lens cleaner in as well but still doesnt work. Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Was the door open when you got the message (easy to do)?
Did you close the door properly?
Did you replace the disc shiny side down?

code p1457 apparently means that i have a leak in my EVAP control system (control canister system). I have no idea what that means or more importantly what that will cost to fix and how long i can continue to drive it without anything happening.
Nothing will happen. The code is for the prevention of fuel vapors getting out of you tank and into the air damaging the enviroment. You need a quality repair shop check the gas cap and perform a smoke test on the evap system. Basically it is a pump that fill your tank and lines with smoke to find where it is leaking. Expensive equiptment, but most good shops have it. Code be as little as a hose, $100 with the test, to the charcoal canister replacement. $600

code p1457 apparently means that I have a leak in my EVAP control system (control canister system).
I also know that there is a cannester that may need to be replaced. Where is the cannester located? I would like to check the hoses to make sure they are connected.
I have also been told it can be the gas cap and the cap on the cannester. I don't know what this coast but I can change it if the price is reasonable. Can you tell me what this might cost?
Thanks,
Ron
i have not seen a evap canister need to be replaced . i belive it is located near the fule tank . the proublem is most likly the evap control valve or a leak . i use a smoke machine to locate leaks

A 2002 Honda Accord, acceleration is slow, engine responds very little although I am pressing harder on the gas. A diagonistic test gave me codes P0730D and P0780 for transmission problems
P0730-Incorrect Gear Ratio and P0780-Shift Malfunction.
This doesn't help you much. And these codes indicate serious transmission problems. The internal parts are worn or broken causing the transmission to slip. It is possible that the problem is with an external sensor, but I doubt it
There was a recall on certain Honda transmissions a few years ago. Contact your local dealer or look online to see if there is any possibility you qualify. Good luck.
