Recently began having major dust in the trunk of 1992 Accord DX. yes, i drive a geavel riad. The trunk gaskets are great, but located a mysterious vent left side of trunk behind trunk liner where dust

It is on all cars, and SUVs, it is a pressure release door/flap that allows air to escape the trunk area when you attempt to close the trunk. Otherwise the trunk would be hard to close as you would be creating a air pressure within it.

My car will sometimes start and I can drive it all

Before doing any mechanical repairs, you need to have the battery charged and load tested. Also have a starter draw test done with the engine hot. Otherwise any further testing will be invalid.
Thare are two different kinds of no-start. The first is when you turn the key and the engine fails to turn, turns very slowly, or you just get a clicking noise. Any of those symptoms point to a discharged, bad or poorly connected battery. If the engine turns but does not start, then you are looking for a bad sensor, ignition coil or bad connection somewhere in the ignition system. (most common are heat sensitive items such as the crank position sensor, ignition coil or sometimes the cam sensor.)
Most larger parts stores will do a free computer scan which can point you in the right direction when diagnosing those items.
There are many system and individual component tests you can do using a digital volt/ohmmeter and a haynes or chilton manual as a guide. No good tech will ever give you a definite diagnosis without doing any testing I can't do that either. What I've given you is a good logical starting point to work from before you start buying parts and just hoping it will work.
Do what I said and it will bring you closer to a solution.
good luck!!

1992 Honda Accord LX stationwagon

Using a volt meter or test light will tell you if the voltage is on the switch. Any auto parts store will have both. You can make a test light with an ice pick, a long piece of wire and an alligator clip. When looking for voltage hook alligator to ground. The dealer or owners manual should tell you how to reset the anti-theft circuit. On some cars inserting a key into the lock and unlocking the car. will do it. If there is power to the switch, could be a motor problem. No power could be a fuse/circuit breaker. Older cars can have corrosion on plugs, wiring insulation problems, loose or corroded connections. Good luck. Hope that helps.

The wires for my 1992 Honda accord drivers door

Were I you... Gg60 You have several options listed by EASE and maintainability... SALVAGE & repair the ELECTRICS from the ORIGINAL DOOR. TRANSPLANT them: Find the applicable bulletins and R&R. Job done ELSE Knowing what year (and features) are in your "replacement"' door would be a MAJOR step in the right direction... in any case = about double the work. I would look for the door drawings for my 1992 HONDA in the FREE wiring & Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)... here: BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products Registration is required (as these are real manufacturer drawings... USING the 1992 year write out a "TRUTH TABLE" (definition: a translation table for KOBBLING mismatched parts together (usu. called field engineering or SKUNKWORKS ) ... Then try to determine where (which year) your "replacement" door is... Match wire colors to feature/function and cross reference these to your TRUTH-TABLE.... Then the work begins... It is called grafting... You might even be able to do it... I would be a challenge for a seasoned electro-mechanical specialist. Hope this helps Carnac the Magnificent

The first step is see if the ECU is throwing any error codes. This may be hard since the car is old, and finding a suitable reader is an issue. I'd first suspect a fuel problem. Could be ... * gummed injectors. Get some injector cleaner, remove the injectors and soak them for a couple of hours with 1/2 the cleaner. Put the other half in the gas tank. * check the throttle body for cracked vacuum hoses. * take the throttle body off and clean out the carbon and other dirt. Could also be the igniter assembly or spark plug leads. If you have not changed the leads in living memory, it's time to do it.
