How to reset jeep grand cherokee fuel pump

which engine of the many, ?????? no start but cranks ROBUSTLY right? turns over means zero, the starter motor and engine both can TURN OVER thus , no meaning, What counts is the crank shaft spins. called Cranking. 1: check all fuses on both boxes. 2: Is dash I/P cluster CEL lamp glowing keyon? 3: I then connect my scan tool and crank for 5 seconds, not 4 , but 5. 3A: got DTC's (errror) for CMP , CKP or spark or dead RPM? thats 4 checks,, got them, ? yes, BINGO. the ECU will not INJECT fuel of those are bad. ever. there are exceptions, but those guys get lawsuits.... 4: above is ok , i check spark (some do this first. sure thats makes sense , always) 5: ok I got spark on all cylinder, NO , fix that or do step 3 again. 6: i try test fuel, I spray it in and BAM it runs for 3sec, and dies. if it dont run, are those 100k miles spark plugs long dead???? ever do tuneups, ever? if runs 3 sec, and sound great. then you lost fueling. i check for flooding only if spark is good. if you get here, the story can go long play, as fueling is complex. ( no injections, leaking , clogged, ECU inputs all wrong, fuel pump dead or weak, FPreg fubar. long..... ask.)

Motor as no fuel

which engine? post the symptoms, please. my guess, it wont start? or stalls? and spark is 100% good (tests) and now you suspect fueling system loss? fuel is last check. after good engine, good spark and if good , try test fuel (spray) if motor starts for 3second test fuel, then you have lost fueling we then do the fuel pressure checks in the FSM , every step, (6) we check pressure cranking, many engines must crank to get fuel..

Voltage at TPS at idle .65 and up to 2.75 at WOT is this adequate

which engine, no engine, no joy. 4.0L inline 6 cyl? yes, in most cases. most got from 0.5 to 4v. most ECU learn this as you drive, others the TPS must be calibrated all this is covered in the FSM> my online source shows , NO Calibration, proving Autocal ECU. why not post symptoms, ???? the TPS when bad, have huge lists of symptoms. and the ECU OBD2 diagnosics on TPS is very poor. it see the TP go wild and just thinks driver is nuts. so no errors.just engine goes nuts. (unless dead open or shorted) (new TBW cars ,totally diffr) what first happens (pure physics) is the carbon in the POT wears. and the TP voltage glitches (at your oldest longest used cruise speed, or at near idle (city car, hiway car ?) it glitches, the ECU goes to ENRICH mode. or fails to 0v, a negative glitch (scopes rule) and ENRICH mode fails. and engine BOGS on the fly. then catches up. how is that.? (it does far more, ask) here is the fsm quote for 4L The Throttle Position Sensor, or TPS is connected to the throttle shaft on the throttle body. It sends throttle valve angle information to the PCM. The PCM uses this information to determine fuel delivery volume. The TPS is a potentiometer with one end connected to 5 volts from the PCM and the other to ground. A third wire is connected to the PCM to measure the voltage from the TPS. As the throttle valve angle is changed (accelerator pedal moved), the output of the TPS also changes. At a closed throttle position, the output of the TPS is low (approximately .5 volts). As the throttle valve opens, the output increases so that, at wide-open throttle, the output voltage should be above 3.9 volts. By monitoring the output voltage from the TPS, the PCM can determine fuel delivery based on throttle valve angle (driver demand). (comments, by me, id does far more than that.. ask)

No communication between TCM and PCM trans wont shift skips 1st to 4th

An open or shorted condition detected in the transmission 2-4 shift solenoid circuit did you leave out other DTC's and if yes, why? you said no comm. so.......?????? Possible causes - Low transmission fluid level - Dirty transmission fluid - Faulty shift solenoid valve - Shift solenoid valve harness or connectors - Shift solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted so what is your question, the A/T is one of the most complex and finicky devices, ever created (puplic) and has 100s of parts. what is the question. 1: want us to guess>? 2: want us to advice DIY , tests (100s of pages in FSM read it) 3: or? what shops are best? or? I can tell you that the FSM covers all this and if really a DIY serious guy and all that,,, ready to buy tools , ready to do all tests. then RTM, the FSM cover this , see sections on ON CAR A/T service and Diagnosis. but first clear the code with any scan tool and see if it comes back also transmissions have limphome to, and they do skip gears. one easy test, is the check the solenoid coil resistance. infinity is bad. its in the book. do not fail to post all DTCs and not fail to drive 20 miles, agressivly to see if the DTCs throw. use a scan tool to see ALL DTCS. the CEL lamp is near useless. (its for smog)

Let me give more history on the question, replaced 98 Cherokee auto transmission with 2000 tranny. DTC code P0753. DBR says short to ground, no communication from TCM to PCM. Electrical problem occurs

code p0753 refers to shift solenoid (SS) A electrical===causes--wiring---shift solenoid---ECM/TCM I'm thinking that with the transmission upgrade and the fault code showing wiring and TCM as faulty I would be paying serious attention to the configuration of the wires in the plugs. Just because the connectors go together may not mean that the corresponding wires go to the right bits. you may have to invest in a good work shop manual for the gear boxes and trace the wiring circuits out and adjust the pins in the connectors to the right circuits.

Heat doesnt work in my jeep cherokee when driving but when sitting heat works

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. Only if it's cold out though, Usually in really cold weather, the cooling affect of the cold air circulating around the radiator keeps the fluid from getting hot enough to produce heat unless your running in park.
