I HAVE 1997 GEO PRISM AND THE CEL KEEPS COMING ON
Did you again got the code checked.Is it showing the same code for EGR or its another problem.(another code).
As per the error code it will detect the exact
faulty part in the car due to which the problem is occurring.For more help :---

If the code is same for EGR valve.Then remove the EGR valve and reconnect it and check.
Need to know the location
The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.The fuel tank has to come out to replace the pump.Best dun when the fuel level is 1/4 tank or less.Hope this helps.Good luck.

What are the pressures?And the low side line going into the firewall should be cold.We need to know what the pressures are,and is the evaporator sweating>and giving off condensation?If the vents are blowing out 80 degrees,then the temp door is not moving .It is either a door actuator motor,or a vacuum that is not working the temp door,check for a bad vacuum under the hood,going into the firewall.

sounds liike a fuel problem, turn key on without starting listen for fuel pump kicking on if it does now check the connections at the pump/fuse if it is kicking on the you can check the fuel pressure by checking the little valve on the fuel rail next to the intake looks just like the air valve on your tires if there is no pressure then check fuel filter.

Yes its very much possible that the belt is either slipped or got very loose to hold the pressure or its cracked.
But also the other possibility is problem with starter and its connections.It has to be checked.Also check the fuel pump and fuel for more troubleshooting.If low fuel or no fuel or fuel filter blocked.
Get the fuel pressure checked.Belt can be easily checked on the alternator beside the battery.

When you pull the hood release inside the car the
Latches out of align. Did you hit anything lately? or anyone sit on front hood of car? Or maybee just needs to be greased. All of the moving parts. Mine is doing it now. One of the springs that makes it pop up is missing on it.
How to replace ignition cylinder?
Thing is you'll need the old key to get it out. get a paperclip too. You should see a tiny hole in the ignition switch. insert the paper clip. You should take the negative battery cable off while doing this. Now turn the key back and forth moving the paper clip in and out and the same time. I havn't doen this but once in my life and that was like about the time dirt was invented so give me a break if it doesn't work. new locks and all might be different. let me know how it goes. the pads, unless locked to the rotors, should be ok. Make sure you have no leaks. Brake fluid will deteriorate the hoses once it is used. If you didnt flush the fluid then there is a good chance your hoses will need replaced.
I just put new rotors, pads, and hoses all the way around my 98 Lincoln Mark VIII for $240 and I did the work. Shop wanted $600. That should give you a general idea of the cost you would be looking at.
