My heat takes too long to get hot.
check your coolant level and top off if needed. its probably time for a new thermostat as well. make sure you get one from land rover when you do this and the proper mix of coolant and distilled water depending on where you live. cheers.
Blinking Lights
It sounds like there is a fault with the automatic transmission. you need to go to the dealer to plug in the tester and see what the problem is. All you can do is check the oil level, that is , if there is a dipstick and not a plug on the side of the transmission.
Discovery td5 want start when cold
If the engine was starting ok before you changed the pump, then it must be something you have done or disturbed, retrace you steps, make sure all pipes are tight connections are good etc
Routing diagram for 2002 landrover discovery ser
There should be a diagram on a decal on the bottom side of your engine hood, or in the engine compartment somewhere. If not, wrap it around the crankshaft, and then work your way around, going flats to flats, and ribs to ribs. There may be a couple of combinations, but you'll get it.
How do i put oil in the gearbox of a discovery td5
Hi,
Manual box?
About half way up on the inboard side (if I remember correctly) is the filler / level plug.
Just take this out and if oil comes out then none needed.
If you do need to top it up then just fill (get one of the bottles with the spout) it until the oil starts to come out.
Same story for the transfer box also. Though check you get the right oil for each as I think they are different.
Hope this helps.

Hard Start in the mornings
it is your battery. some batteries have a higher rating than other batteries. look at your battery and check the "CCA", or Cold Cranking Amps. that is how much power it will put out in the mornings or when in cold weather. the higher the cca rating, the easier your car will start in the mornings. your also have a larger vehicle with it being an SUV, so it will generally take more power to turn the starter anyways. Just walk into any parts store, even Wal-Mart, and get a battery with a higher CCA rating than the one cu5rrently in your vehicle. There should be a sticker on the battery that will tell. Good Luck
The green (S) Light on the instrument panel comes
this indicates the transmission is operating in "sport" mode. there is a switch to the rear of the transmission shift lever on the center console. depress the switch to take the transmission out of sport mode and the "s" on the dash will disappear. Press again it will reappear. Sport mode will operate the transmission in a sportier feeling shift pattern and will use more fuel. The switch is labeled "mode". It frequently gets depressed when I lay things in the console.
Where is the fuel filter located on 2000 Land Rover Discovery II
I suggest that you visit the autozone.com website and register the vehicle. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for the vehicle. Pretty handy. There should be information available on the fuel system and replacing the fuel filter there. Hope this helped and best wishes.
Can't shift into low gear
sounds like you have a worn or bad synchronizer.by the way if you have either the freelander or the discovery; there are 3 recalls on each model.
Where is location of coolant sensor land rover
The temp sender should be located on the front of the intake manifold (big molded metal thing between the cylinder heads that the carbs are mounted to). The thermostat housing will be in the lower center front of the manifold with two temp sensors leading out but these are not the ones you want. You want the temp sensor that is actually bolted into the manifold on one of the sides. The sensor is most likely be an M16X1.5 threaded sensor with a single electrical lead coming out of it, but you will need to look at your existing sender to be sure.
