Hello! The transmission and transfer case are removed as an assembly, since the transfer case is bolted directly to the rear of the transmission and takes the place of an extension housing...i believe you would be better off installing it in one piece...It sounds as if you do not have a repair manual...

Check trans fluid with engine running - if low, top off. If fluid level is fine then try changing the transmission filter located inside the transmission pan. You may also have an issue with dirty trans fluid - if it is not pinkish but brown then have a transmission power flush done, then change filter.
New alternator and when my 1993 trcker is running
The question, and I do not want to insult you, but has it been installed correctly, or it could be faulty...a new alternator does not necessarily mean it is a good one, i have had some experience with this......with a multimeter, what is the voltage at the battery whilst the engine is running

There is a clutch fork and it's bolted to the transmission bell housing. It's what pushes on the clutch bearing, disengaging the transmission from the engine, which allows you to safely change gears. If it's broken, you will surely have to replace that clutch fork in order for you to do any gear shifting in the future.

Hi, i was having a similar problem with a truck. It would sputter and not want to start not until the fuel pedal is held to the floor. All it was is the fuel filter. You need to replace the fuel filter immediately.
Black smoke is burning oil. Blue smoke is usually transmission fluid due to a leaking modulator valve in the older auto transmission. White smoke is due to water getting in to a cylinder from a bad gasket, cracked block or a cracked head. Black smoke from engines on starting and/or running tends to mean there is fuel leaking into the engine, or the fuel mix is incorrect and not atomised correctly. the main causes are normally a nakered air filter that isnt letting enough clean air into the engine to mix. a blocked fuel filter, which is either not letting enough fuel in, or in some cases, a faulty fuel filter which is letting too much fuel into the engine, and causing black smoke due to excess burning. Black smoke is a fuel/air mixture suggestion problems with injection or carbonation. Cause of black smoke is due to running rich in the fuel air mix. Check the oil,the oil leak, the air filter, the fuel pump and fuel filter to confirm the fault.
