I had the same problem. exactly. the problem I determined was that the water flow to the heater core is not being restricted by the DCCV. ( heater valve ) My dealer tried replacing everything electronic. and then wanted me to buy a 1400.00 control head. I said no way. I determined that there was no power going to the center yellow wire on the DCCV. Therefore it will default to full hot when no electricity is present. I checked the fuse and had power but none at the connector of the DCCV. I began to follow the harness from the DCCV to the chassis of the vehicle and in the right front coner of the car under the headlight attached to a frame rail. right where everything drips if you have a leak is a connector that has the 3 wires for the DCCV. it is a 8 place connector with 7 wires in it. It had become corroded inside from a leaking DCCV and overtime deteriated the terminal. I replace the connector and all problems were fixed when I had power to the DVVC. I have pictures if you need them. [email protected]

2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

I have a 2003 Jaguar S-Type and am looking to replace a lost 'switchblade' key fob. I am looking to pick one up cheap off of eBay and was wondering if I can get instructions on how to reprogram the 'new' key fob without taking my car to the dealer and spending big $$$.

The switchblade key would need to be compatable with your ignition switch barrel. Only normally available from jag dealers who check the Jag owners register before supplying you a replacement.
The older type seperate fobs could be programmed by switching the ignition on and off 8 times (allowing all functions to settle) and on the 9th switch on - press a button on each fob and then switch off. to test use a good fob to lock the car then try the reprogammed fob to unlock/lock. Sometimes this works first time - sometimes needs a couple of tries.

Bad parking assist sensor.....is there a fuse for the park assist?

I think I have a bad park assist sensor. The sensor tone sounds while driving, and while parked. I was wondering if there is a fuse for the park assist, and if so where is it located? Thanks

This is a shared fuse, if you remove it you will lose other services. As your reverse aid sounds all the time it has a probable fault in the module or wiring. The module is located in the left hand side lower boot. To disable - pull the plugs from the module until you get it checked out. These modules often suffer from dampness in the boot as it is prone to leaking. sometimes just removing and refitting the plugs and then spraying with a water dissipating spray (WD 40) often brings them back to life once they have dried out.
hope this helps - good luck.

what are the functions of the brain box in a car?

what are the functions of the brain box in a car?

Well, there are several "brains" in your car, but most people are referring to the ECU (engine control unit) when they refer to the brain. The ECU interfaces with all of the engine management sensors and adjusts fuel, timing and other performance-related issues real-time as you drive. It uses algorithms written into its programming to make your engine run as efficiently as possible. It also detects problems with engine sensors and equipment and alerts you via the check engine light and the OBD hook-up.

Hope this is an answer to your question,
matt

jaguar s-type restricted performance

2003 jaguar s-type restricted performance at 3000 Rpms. car sputters. I replaced the plugs, and coils to no avail . the check engine light flashes with the restricted performance. has around 108,000 miles. has anyone else had this problem and what caused it ?

I had the same problem. Restricted performance and running rough at 3000 RPM. I have an OBDII code reader and found that the problem was in the air mass flow sensor, which is just after the air filter. I pulled this out and found it was dirty and had butterfly wings in it. The last shop where I had the oil changed replaced the filter for me but put in the wrong size. Close but no cigar. Bought some *** Flow Sensor cleaner at auto store and fixed the problem. Get an OBDII reader with the ability to erase the codes. Comes in real handy.

Not all phones are compatible. i know most newer sony Erickson nokias and samsung some will work ok to talk/receive but not all will let you download contacts list. although you can do this manually via bluetooth. With the screen on key turned in ignition press ##3#*# then press the making call button it should then say discover me on your phone go to bluetooth settings then look for bluetooth on,then locate/discover devices when its found jaguar on your screen click o/k then it should ask for pass code which is 1313 then go to authorize device on your phone that should get it connecting automatically each time you leave then re enter the car

the 1582 code is a flight recorder code meaning that at some point one of the following has happened: the inertia switch has been triggered, throttle body signal has triggered the limp mode, the engine starts but stumble and then shuts off,or engine fail to start,or a engine stall has occured. This is what causes this code.If the issue was resolved, clear the code becuae it can become permanent and although the car will run fine the code will be there without a mil showing.
