How to reset ECM on a 2000 lincoln ls

What do you mean by reset? What is the vehicle problem or what are you trying to do? Have you checked for codes & made the proper repairs? If so, you won't have a dash lights lite

Coil on plug could be bad, alternator could have internal short, or your Idle air control valve could need to be replaced.

2000 lincoln ls wont start

you must check the connection to the power distribution box in the engine compartment this is the black box with the fuses you will see a connection from the battery clean any corrosion present this will allow the electrical voltage to go through , also you will see a little square box with a cover on the right inner fender remove the cover you will see a junction of wires bolted in with a 8mm-10mm nut remove these wires and clean them you must make sure that all connections are clean and lubed wd-40 pb blaster carbon conductive grease is best but they all work to inhibit rust & corrosion and they must be tightly connected there can be no air gaps they must be very tight if not there will be no power at all everything will be out this is also true for the battery cables any loose or corroded connectors must be cleaned and the battery terminals must be the right size 19mm. I.D. for the+ & 17mm.I.D. for the- if you have replaced these recently and you bought a universal set the - terminal is to big and loose which will cause a break in the electrical connection and will cause the battery to go dead ,you can check your alternator by jump starting the vehicle once running disconnect the battery cables if the engine keeps running its good if the engine dies the alternator is N/G I don't know if your car has power and is cranking when you turn the key if you do have someone pull a coil out and touch to ground if there is spark the computer is working we must now look for a bad fuel pump take off the air cleaner hose at the throttle body get someone to crank the engine while you spray carburetor cleaner into the throttle body by pushing back the throttle lever to open the plate if the car starts you could have a bad fuel pump/pump relay/blown fuse for the pump & this could blown fuse will most likely translate to a bad fuel pump because the pump locked up and blew the fuse I tried to cover everything that I could without being there to check the car and your question was very vague in description so good luck its either electrical or fuel related LATER MAN!

Why lincon starts but dont go ito drive

If it will go into reverse, but not drive, I would expect to find trouble codes in the engine computer and problems inside the transmission.

Fuse diagram lincoln ls

The radio may have an internal fuse if it's after market or a circuit has been tapped for power. The radio protection can be integrated into another protected circuit. Depends a great deal on who the installer was. Check for something else not working. Radio may be on same circuit. Good Luck -Ned-

Your vehicle is 14 years old, and probably has quite a few miles on it. START WITH A MAJOR TUNE-UP, INCLUDING PLUGS, WIRES, COIL PACKS, and a FUEL SYSTEM INSPECTION. You'll probably find that the fuel filter is old and should have been replaced years ago :)

DOES THE 2008 LINCOLN MKZ HAVE A TIMING BELT OR CHAIN

It has four belts. One for each bank of the engine (left side and right side of a V8 engine left on Ford is bank 1 right is bank 2 if looking at the engine from the front.) There is a belt that travels from the crank to each head and then there is a single small belt that travels from the intake side of the head to the exhaust side. The belts are notorious in these vehicles for causing problems. Its actually more the guides that Ford put into the 3.9 V8 or the V6, they are PLASTIC!!! The job is absolutely ridiculous in costs and you will need a special tool to do the job. I have found the components you will need for this job on Ebay cheaper than anywhere else but still around 300.00, and you can also find the tools you will need on there as well. They are almost 500.00 however some places will actually rent you the tool for a fee of 100.00 with the 500.00 deposit it's also on Ebay. Just research the job as it is a very costly one and not for the amateur. I hope this has been helpful and I ask that you please rate my response. 04 lincon ls is blowing hot on driver and cold on passenger side

I got this advice from someone at fixya. Disconnect battery from terminals for a bit (forgot how long maybe over 30 sec) then reconnect. I went a little further with a trick VW owners do by holding the negative and positive cable connectors together (with it being off the battery of course) for the duration of the disconnected cables . The LS computer will then reset.

Where the signal for dual climate control valve came from

car off?, dont you mean the KEY ignition switch is off? that must kill all power to all things but headlights and memory feed. so..... its distribution issue for power, not HVAC.... you think? ok jose, ever heard of the FSM>? factory service manual, HVAC is all there, all the tests. etc. or alldata.com. log in and read it. with the schematic and a voltmeter this is like what 15 min.work? why? what country, USA cars are exported, and guess what, have unique features, options and WIRING. so post the country, be the first ever here to tell this, vital fact./?? shock me.....? ill log in to alldata. for you, just you today. (random chance) i open HVAC chapter, and see? (USA cars) 8 pages of schematics just Climate control, option. first i decode DCCV, to Dual Climate Control Valve) this valve is controls by the EATC module. page 2 as as such, (all logic modules) it is bad or the inputs to it are bad. so what are the inputs.? (power and sensors) Id say its a power issue, due to its hot and must not be so... the HVAC pages fail to show which pins are power, (blank names on pins) so had to go to power distribution pages, 5 more pages. just to find this for you, get an alldata.com account and try self.? horrid drawings, by maker. (a real FSM will be 10x better) but id bet , you failed to check all features on the car and failed to see other things stuck on. huh? the battery fuse box has SSP relays. one is stuck on, Fused. (fused, means welded contacts) id bet. key off, check the output pin on each SSP, relay, one is 12vdc FAILED or the control line to them failed. there are 100s of pages of schematics, working blind is near impossible on newer cars. (unlike 1960 cars)
