I have a 2000 Lincoln navigator and today it
could be the starter solenoid or your battery checks out fine on voltage but does not have enough amperage. you can take both to the auto parts store and have both checked out.after thought make sure you battery contacts(cable connector) are clean dirty corroded contacts cause amperage loss.

if it is a 2000 nav it should not take freon it should be r34 you can buy this at your local walmart you add it to the upper cap in the engine compartment should be rite off the fire wall on that vehical i belive the passenger side
