Need to replace ignition tumbler

fit the hey and there will be a small hole in the housing -slot or pin that you push in /pull out as you turn the key back past accessories position. A dealer service centre can do the job in probably five minutes for you.

My 98 land rover discovery is very hard to start

Gas should be black so you may have a problem inside the tank. Rust is the first thing to come to mind.
Also white smoke is usually a sign of water in the combustion chamber. So you may also have water in the fuel tank too. I would guess that there is a hole in the fuel-tank. Do you smell fuel inside or at the rear of the vehicle? Because the car has a OBD2 port you should be able To have generic codes read. So bring it to Auto-zone and see if they can plug into your car's OBD2 port. They provide this service for free. The only other way to have codes read is to bring it to the dealer.

Help !!!!. I have a 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE.

Some one brought his vehicle to me the other day with same problem. What i did was connected the battery and got inside locked the doors and removed the main fuse. This reseted the ordeal somehow. When i got outside i locked the door again and that was that. No alarm. How ever, i did install a new battery to the handset and tried again without any problems. Hope this helps.
