Using around 1 ltr of
Either you have a serious leak - start the car in a closed, well lit clean place and look for the expelled steam and/or water drops - or the cooling circuit is not pressurized, the water boils and is lost as vapour - for that check the caps on the radiator and on the coolant tank. The caps are easy to test: heat up the engine and with it running, protect yourself with a thick piece of cloth then open the cap on the radiator - if steam will not pour out violently then the cap is faulty. The cap on the tank is tested by blowing air thru it with your mouth - if you don't need a significant effort to do it then the cap is dead.

Replace cabin pollen filter 2005 jaguar xkr
To get to the cabin air filter on an XK8 or XKR, you have to do the following steps (I know these steps sound ridiculous...as in many cars there is just a simple cover in the engine compartment... but...): The air filter is under the black plastic cowl or plenum that is just under the windshield wiper blade connectors. To get to that, you must 1. carefully lift off the plastic covers that reveal screw heads. Remove the screws. 2. lift off the plastic covers that are on the top of each windshield wiper connector - under the cover you will then see a nut or bolt that has to be unscrewed. 3. Using a small puller (the puller that lifts off battery terminals works for this) lift off each windshield wiper and disconnect the rubber hose from each. 3. lift the car's front hood, and remove the plastic cowling (you also have to lift the side rubber runners and a rubber strap from each side that holds up the rubber drain hoses). Once you remove that plastic cowling, you will see the air filter plenum at the back of the engine area. The air filter should come vertically out of that. (This air filter does not exist on my 2000 and earlier editions...I am not sure what year Jaguar installed them.) Full instructions are on the Jaguar JTIS CD which you should obtain...look online for that.

Replaced brake pads, extreme squeal resulted
Pads will reproduce sound just like a needle on a phonograph. Hard linings will accentuate this. Have the rotors re-surfaced and finished with a non-directional pattern(I make a quick pass with a D/A sander over surfaces while still on the lathe) Generally this will help.

"Cruise Not Available" & "Check Rear Lights" flash from message c
Hi Don
I recomend you try this first of all.
Try disconnecting the positive battery + & negative - terminals.
Turn the ignition key several times to erase the computers memory.
Reconect the battery + terminal and then - and start the car.
Your fault code, will hopefully not return.
Good Luck !
John.

Hello
You will need to get the drive universal joints checked for excessive wear and at the same time it is on the car lift have it checked for other sources of noise, this is a eyes and ears on type of problem. If this is a vibration problem and a resulting noise then it can be an exhaust system support bracket has broken loose. This is very difficult to diagnose over a keyboard.
How do i install a
I assume you have a jaguar sat-nav system installed. To update you can buy an updated disc which is compatible to your car system and which will contain all new information/routes etc. simply load this into you unit and follow any instructions.
Hope this helps - good luck!
XKR 'drivers door open' message
Hi Colin,
The switch on the door must need adjusting. or be defective....It would be a good idea to have a scan carried out to find out which?
