WHERE IS THE OIL PUMP LOCATED ON 99 LR DISCOVERY
The Oil Pump is located in the sump of the engine. It has a common issue with the Oil Pump Bolt, which holds the sprocket driven by a chain to the oil pump. On some models this has been known to work loose due to not being loctited. The replacement Pump Bolt has a dab of loctite. My 99 bolt was loose. You'll need a new sump seal too. Parts are about £20's worth.
My left rear air shock is deflating when parked.
Welcome to Fixya
Looks like there is a problem or leak at the air suspension. Test it first,
remove the air bellows and submerse them into water, pump them up with air and check for bubbles. Your problem could be a cracked air pipe or a leaking valve. It is not the pump as you would not be able to pump up if it was. Now you need a can of the special wurth spray that detects air leaks. Check also the box that houses the compressor for air leaks. You will be hearing air coming out if there are leaks.

You can find factory wiring diagrams here (free RAVE Download) http://www.landroverresource.com/ And sure you can wire your spots into rear fog switch, depending on watts/draw of your lights you might want to "UP" the fuse rating
Starts only when it cold
just off the top of my head. it may be the fuel pump relay, when its cold it is ok. but when hot it will not work. check it out. hope this helps. have a good day. if when hot. see if fuel pump is running, just get under car at tank in back. and have a person turn the key to on, while you put hand on tank to feel vibration. if pump works its not the relay. if it does not when hot,it is the relay! a fuel pump only turns on a few seconds to get fuel to engine, then when running it is on all the time.
Heater not to correct temp. Top hose getting hard.
Hi, sounds like you have a cooling flow problem, is the bottom hoses getting hot and the top hose hot or cold. If top is cold you could have a stopped up heater core or a restriction going back to intake. Have you ever flushed the cooling system if not is worth a try and what does your coolant look like in the radiator is it muddy looking or any thing like that. Thanks if i can help further just re post.
My 99 land rover is leaking transmission fluid
I would have it looked at by a garage but if you are somewhat mechanical, you could crawl underneath and carefully inspect for the source of the leak ie. lines, transmission pan drain plug, etc. Remember that some people use transmission fluid for their power steering too and power steering boxes are notorious for leaking on these trucks.
Otherwise, I would take by a trusted local mechanic and have them inspect. Make sure your transmission fluid is topped off to avoid damaging your transmission. Instructions for checking this are in your owners manual. Let me know what you find.
Brake light on dash illuminated.
Probably going to be a wheel cylinder or brake line you should get it looked at soon as possible not safe to drive that way soon when enough air seeps in to the system brakes will fail you might end up bumping in to someone from behind.Hope this helprd you out.John
