I have a 99 Discovery II and the Traction Control,

Can't be reset if your ABS system or some component is faulty. check speed sensor on the wheel bearing, is there any rubbing or dull grinding noise coming from the front wheels? could be the entire bearing and speed sensor assembly has gone bad. this would cause all these faults to appear as that sensor triggers all these events in order to slow your vehicle while it downshifts itself and applies breaking to control the vehicle as a part of the stabilization system. The alternative is that the ABS system is not functioning properly and the trac control and hill decent systems are being deactivated as part of the fault. If the system cant apply breaking then the systems are rendered unavailable. the vehicle will stop but not using ABS just regular breaks. Check all ABS break fuses for damage.

My discover will not idle.

Hi.

Often this problem is caused by defective MAF sensor or AIT sensor. Both sensors are located on the air intake, and determine how the ECU will mix fuel and air.
A vacuum leak can also cause problems of this kind.

the best thing to do is going to the nearest Auto Zone, and asking a scan code reading. The operation is free of charge at Autozone, and will give you error codes that can help locating the problem.

When you get the error codes, write them and get back to us, so that we can tell you more on the problem.

Regards.

Question about new tires

If they are in deed good tires and correct size keep them. Only suggestion is to keep the two same brand/tread tires on the same axle front or back. Never mix tire sizes or tread on same axle. This could affect braking and traction on wet roads espically.

A FRIEND TELL ME I NEED A NEW CLUCH THAT GOES ON

It fans! Kidding. Ok, that psrt in the middle is the clutch. It is a viscous/fluid that expands as it gets hot. In doing do it forces the fan blades to keep up eith the shaft it is attached to. Of course it then pulls more air through the radiator for cooling. At higher speeds, above 35 miles per hour the fan becomes in effective due to vehicle speed forcing air through the radiator. The fluid in the fan hub cools and the fan is left to freewheel in turn taking away the fans parasitical load. That's what it does. If you are overheating, The fan is only to blame at low speeds. If you overheat over 35, Chances are real good your thermostat is acting up. Good Luck and quit spinning the fan! :)

What is a bwd electric

Yes you have one.
Inertia fuel shutoff switch
The inertia fuel shutoff switch is a mechanically operated switch, located on the bulkhead adjacent to the washer reservoir under bonnet [hood].

The switch is normally closed and is in line with the fuel pump circuit. In the event of a sudden impact the switch opens, and disconnects the electrical feed to the fuel pump. The switch is reset by pressing down the button.

1. The charging system must be faulty (Alternator)

2. The fuel pump is bad too.
