1992 Saturn SL1 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
96 saturn sl1
It may not be a fuse issue. You could have a bad socket connection. Pull the wire from the back of the lighter socket to see if you have power there. If you do, then the socket is bad.
I have a pinhole leak in engine block. How do I repair it?
Check your oil to make sure that there is no water mixed with your oil. Oil will be lighter in color and be frothy if there is water. If you have no water add a large can of Pet Milk to your cooling system water. Do this when the everything is cool to the touch because the milk should be added at the radiator cap. then drive it around for a while to give the therostat time to open and the milk to seal the pin hole. Works with leaky head gaskets and as temp fix for leaking freeze plugs. Hey, they use the same thing to repair steem boilers. Repete if needed. $1.00 fix.
1996 saturn sl1 stick
take the wheel and drum off the back and check that the shoes are not worn out on the edges..what happens is the end wears off first but as pressure is applied the shoe moves to where there is some pad left..severe brake dust can do it too. get the brakes checked as soon as you can.to clean and adjust the rear brakes is not that expensive.
Ground Wire fried...
Unfortunately there are only two ways to do this. 1. open up the harness and trace & replace burned wire. 2. cut both ends of the burned wire and leave burned section in place, then run a new wire BUT you need to know if there are any branch circuits coming off it and destinations, and, if the burned wire has crossed over into any other wire you will not see it. Third option is to replace entire harness with a good one. (time intensive and expensive, but actually the best option) Note: you also need to find the reason it burned or anything you do will likely fry again!
Wipers seized - need to get linkage out
Try using wd 40 or something to losen up the rust or if you have and know how to using a cetaline torch and heat it up tren try tapping it with a hammer it should break free,
Anti freeze leak
it could be anything, hoses are common, have the system pressure tested to determine the cause of the leak, a dealer can do this.
Saturn / fuse for lighter
Fuse is in the passenger side kick panel fuse box. Look at the inside of the kick panel for exact location
Take a look there
Runs rich, floods, check engine lite comes on and off
the service light will indicate the computer is storing failure codes. Possibly a couple of codes related to a RiCH fuel mixture. Could be sensor or fuel injector related. Essentially what is happening is the engine is getting more fuel than needed, the reason for flooding. Holding your foot to the floor while starting prevents fuel injectors from squirting more fuel.
Fuel gauge inoperable
The problem is the Fuel Pump Sending Unit. The Fuse and Relay Both for the Guages are for the Entire Cluster. Wish there was an Easier way!
Rear shocks replacement?
i assume that this is a sl2 or a sc2 both have a rear sway bar and possibly have binding sway bar links. remove rear wheel and find link that goes from rear sway bar to strut and make sure it is able to pivot. if they are binding they make a lot of noise and need to be replaced
2008 satura aura
The Saturn Aura introduced a new bolt pattern for Saturn (and GM), 5-110. The SKY is the only other Saturn with this pattern. If you look to the extended family, the Chevrolet Malibu (2004-up), Pontiac G6, Saab 9-3 (current generation), Pontiac Solstice, Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5 and Chevrolet HHR use this pattern as well. There is also a very large selection of aftermarket 5-110 bolt pattern wheels.
Leaking antifreeze
could quite possibly be the water pump. There is a weep hole under the shaft, when the bearings go, the antifreeze leaks out at that point. Try checking w/ motor off using a small mirror to get a look under the water pump. If u see corrosion, or it's wet, get a new pump installed. Let me know what u find. good luck countrycurt0
Broken Radio
Jonzo. if u can't find a fuse labeled radio in the fuse block, check the power wire that connects to the radio itself, it usually has a fuse built into the line. I'm not sure about the saturn, but the fuse may be the old cylinder shape fuse, it may be inside a small cylinder shaped plastic case w/ a wire going in one end (power in) and out the other (to the radio). If it's this type of fuse, u have to push both ends in and twist, and it will come apart, allowing u to remove the fuse and check it. If u tried a radio u know works, hopefully it's just this fuse in the power wire. countrytcurt0
