My 2004 stick shift Saturn Ion has a problem

you have a clutch hydraulic problem. have the clutch master cylinder replaced and the linkage adjusted if neccessary. you will be money ahead to have them replace the slave cylinder at the same time.

How do i get to the window motor leads.

You should have 2 main wires going to the motor. Reversing the polarity should make motor wind opposite way.Sometimes when testing, if necessary, I'll use a 12VDC battery from a cordless drill as a test. Even a 14.4 volt will work. You may have to remove door panel to see which 2 actually go to that motor.

You buy a 10 year old car that isn't even made anymoreand know it has issuesDo you not have a repair shop you use for many years that has been around for decadesYou need a shop to go thru the entire car & fix ALL problemsregardless of cost, not us guessing at thingsNot to get up to speed could be a gas filter ,most likely wornout & blocked exhaust converter & I could write a bookAll it's issues can be diagnosed & you should spend about $1500if ALL problems are properly tested & resolvedNow you got the entire suspension, all fluids, brakes, tires & on & onWhen I buy any vehicle I put it on stands for 3 weeks min & go thru itOn a new car i spend a week a year going thru the entire carI take brakes apart every yearI check all data every 4 months with professional scan tool software

I have a 2005 Saturn Ion. It has been hard to start as of late. Today it would not start at all. It makes a clicking sound followed by a low whir noise. The lights come on as does the radio. What do y

this sounds to me like your battery is dieing. keep in mind that your starter draws a lot of amps and your radio and lights do not. your best bet is to take your battery out of your vehicle and down to your local auto zone or advance auto and have them charge/test it for you. this costs nothing and they will be able to tell you if you have any dead cells in your battery or if it just needed a charge. if it turns out that it just needed a charge then you most likely have a bad alternator. once you get home with the freshly charged battery and start your vehicle head straight back to the auto parts store to let them check your alternator for you (also free) hope this helps

Tools for oil change

You only need a few. You need a wrench or socket that fits the oil pan drain plug. Car makers have used all sizes of drain plugs, don't know Saturn's, anywhere from 13 millimeter to 19 millimeter size wrench or socket. One of them will fit yours. So one wrench (when you find the right one) and you will need a drain pan to catch the oil. Next you will need an oil filter wrench or tool. There are several types and sizes-when you buy the new oil filter you can get the filter remover that fits your filter . A parts person should be able to help you select the right one. Also buy a small funnel to pour new oil into the engine .And don't forget to have a few rags handy to clean up spills and wipe off areas. That's about all that is normally required.

Clutch doesnt have resistance till about an inch or two off the floor.

check the linkage for any slack. if the clutch is very old, it might be time to replace it, at which time the mechanic would fix it up to where it will give resistance the whole way.

Water is leaking slightly from the dash area. It

If you are using the AC or defroster, it is most likely the drain is clogged. When the AC runs, it will condense water on the evaporator. This is supposed to drain outside the car but if the drain is clogged it will back up and spill into the car. There should be a rubber drain tube on the evaporator box normally on the passenger side.

I do not have a clue as to cost.

My 2004 Saturn Ion is making a grinding noise when I turn left, only left and only the first left turn of the day. I just had bearings replace, front brakes replaced and rotors replaced. This grindi

CV joint on the left side is going out. It will grind once or twice "sometimes" when first starting to drive. Best to have both CV joints replaced. Roughly 400.00 to 450.00 parts and labor. Don't take it to a dealer. Dealer shop rates run 90.00 an hour. It will instantly become a 700.00 to 800.00 dollar job. A good reputable mechanic can order replacements and have it done in a day!
