MY 85 928 won't hold an idle.

Not sure, but have you checked ALL of your vacuum lines for cracks/leaks - most likely cause is an air leak in vacuum lines or fuel inlet.

My 1985 Porsche 928 S4 cruise con trol activates

What you are describing is a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum lines for the cruise control or a bad cruise control vacuum servo. I myself am a former owner of a 1979 Porsche 928 5 speed, a very beautiful and extremely powerful stock automobile. Good luck.

Cable became disconnected from latch. Cannot open

I listened the same problem with one Boxter when the battery went dead. They called the Porsche dealer and he offered a suggestion that worked great: Go to a auto part store and buy a small battery that plugs into your cigarette lighter for the purpose of starting cars when batteries are dead. Leave it plugged in for about 20 minutes and it gives you enough charge to open your hood latch. Make sure your door is open when you go to pop the latch, as they was sitting in my car with the door closed and trying to figure out why it wasnt working.

Now they always keep one charged in my glove box.

Other its pull hood release latch, located on the driver side left foot.

Good luck.

My head lights work but don't pop up on my 1981 porsche 928

There are two relays in the fuse panel under the front of the passenger footwell mat...board...also there are fuses for the headlamp motors there as well....there should also be a key indicating which fuse is which. And which relay is responsible for headlamp motor operation...I think it is the large on all the way to the right....wiggle while you have the headlamps turned to ON position...see if they pop up.....let me know how it goes...The headlamp relay is problematic on that model.

Porsche keys Hi, thanks in advance for hopefully answering my question, We've just purchased a 1989 928 Porsche and only have one key for it. We're in New Zealand and it seems there is NO where that

Find the Porsche dealer service centre / parts department as they will have replacement keys and probably a key cutting and programming machine.
