I have a 2002 santa fe auto 4 speed it well all way to 4th gear after about 10 miles itwill dropin to 3rd gear and lock in and stay in 3rd til you turn it off. Can you help.

Your transmission probably has electric solenoids controlling the various gears. You need to have them checked out for proper operation especially the one responsible for your 4th gear..

I have a 2002 hyunda sante fe 2.7ltr auto and the seal between the auto and the transfer case is leaking. I know its the transfer case becaust the oil is thick. Any help would be appreciated

Good Day Sir. I recommend to thoroughly check your TC and A/T system of where the oil is really from and if u know how to do it, its kind of hard making the system drop. I guess the parts u need to replace are only the oil seal and gasket.
Hope it help.
God Bless.

Repair hyundai Santa Fe Retractable Cargo Cover

My answer is based on a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. I needed a vise grip to use for some fine pulling and a little bit of hammering, and a 1/8 drill bit (no drill required). These cargo covers are not riveted, there is just a little hollow metal tube about 1 inch long and 1/8 in wide. So roll the cover up to make it more convenient. Use the 1/8 drill bit to push the metal pins (see pic) and just push the pins out at either end. Once the pins are out, slide the plastic covers off. They come off with little to no resistance. There is an aluminum rod with three foam pieces on one end to make rolling smooth, and the other end has a long spring with one end attached to the rod and the other end connects to these little white circle plastic discs that hold the other end of the spring. More than likely the plastic failed, as was my case.Holding a metal spring taut with a plastic isn't the best idea but it saved a few pennies off the MSRP so be it. Since these discs were used on both ends, just switch the plastic discs and installation is truly the reverse of the removal. The car is 10 yrs old now so I figure I won't be the owner of it when this piece fails again. The only difficulty I encountered was a rubber covering on the shaft under the spring that bunched up. I had to pull the spring partially off the shaft and cut some bunched off rubber off. 952e33b4-ebd0-4022-b1e0-40248426a6fa.jpg 4d330656-bdba-4e8e-8b0d-1e518d9fd230.jpg

I own a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe and my transmission is stuck in manual mode it won't go past number one I can't get it back over into automatic mode and I want to know what might be the problem

The big question here is how did it work before it got stuck the transmission I mean . Did it shift OK before it got stuck if no you have a big problem with your trany . If it worked good then look at the key switch it locks the shift lever so you can't shift it with your foot on the brake or any linkages connecting to this system its all on the steering collum or a linkage to the transmission

Car idle great until driving down the road

I would try a good injector cleaner like Berryman's, Lucas, or Chevron Techron. You can find these at Autozone, Oreilly's, Walmart, Etc. You need to put the injector cleaner in your gas tank before you fill up. Hopefully it will make your vehicle run better. This may not resolve your problem. You may need a new set of spark plugs installed, if that has not been done in years. You may need to have your vehicle checked by a reputable mechanic.
