My steering wheel is really low to my legs, is there anyway that I can raise it a little bit higher?

Torque specs 4af 1.6 16valve engine in newton meter

Tightened the bolts 60Nm and then give them an additional plus 90 deg turn and that way you won't have had to tighten them again after 1000km. - that's how stretch bolts work. I wish somebody had told me that the first time. Lucky my dad was there to help me out the second time.

White smoke

from where, end of tail pipe or ????????????? tail smoke has 2 types,. oil and steam. 1: steam smells sweet(glycol) and goes away fast. 2: oil smoke, smells like burnt oil and takes a vary long time to go byebye. or is normal. all cars burning gasoline make water (H2O) as a byproduct, of combustion the seems to go away on a hot day. but really does not, it just seems to. on a cold day all cars make steam if yours is and your neighbors car dont at the SAME time (out door temps same) then your steam is wrong. a bad sign of bad head gasket or far far worse , a cracked head. did you do the pre fall service, and check antifreeze protection levels. a $2 tool that save cracked engine blocks.

Replace big end bearing

What is the problem? It is not necessary to disassemble the whole engine. Take the engine out of engine compartment, remove the transmission, fly wheel, front timing cover, timing gears, oil pan, filter gauze, and finally the crankshaft. Leave the connecting rods in place, only remove the bearing shells. Re grind the crankshaft to the specifications and install it back in the reverse order of dis assembly. w

Driving down highway and i hear tapping/knocking

There are several things that could be happening here - how many miles do you have on the car, and have you ever changed the Timing belt ( typically done around 60,000 to 70,000 miles)? Does the starter turn over strong or does it struggle ( slow wow.....wow....wow.....kind of sound) ?Do you smell rotten eggs under the hood? Is the battery wall swollen out or bulging? Are your battery or starter wires/connections corroded, or do they have lumpy sections in them? depending on the miles and whether or not you had the timing belt changed, I would probably first check to see if the timing belt broke. If it did, you need to find out if you have an interference motor or not ( call your local Toyota dealer and have your Vehicle identification Number ready ( VIN). Also ask them the factory recommendation of miles to change the timing belt.If you do have an interference motor, you may have just broken some exhaust valves when the belt went - meaning an advanced repair is needed, possibly replacing the cylinder head.( I hope its not the head !) This type of repair is serious and complicated, with many precision steps and specialty tools needed to complete. After checking these things, if you want to let me know what you've discovered I can advise you from there.Hope this helps and thanks for using Fixya!!
