Toyota camry 2001emission not ready (Readiness == Fail )

My car is Toyota Camry 2001 (4 cyl 2.2 ).
The check engine light was on before, so I went to autozone and theysaid that catalytic converter was bad. It was replaced, the checkengine light went away. So I drove the car to the emissions and it fail becausethe car didn't have enough miles driven for the emissions (READINESS == FAIL) but before taking the car to the emission place I drove the car fortwo weeks, I even took a long trip vacation. I probably put about 1000 miles on it.

Any suggestions? Should I reset the battery ?

Thank you!

The P0420 code, usually associated with a weak cat converter, is in fact often caused by an ageing (weak) downstream O2 sensor. On both my cars at around 150K miles replacing the downstream O2 sensor was all that was needed to clear the code. No cat replacement was necessary. If one actually spends some time reading the diagnostics procedure for this code, they will find that the O2 sensor diagnostic is the first thing to do before replacing the cat converter. The downstream sensor, the one after the cat converter, gets "lazy" with age. This means that it no longer produces voltage signals as it used to. The result is that the voltage swings that come out of it begins to follow very closely the voltage that is generated by the upstream O2 sensor. When this happens, the car computer thinks the cat converter does not do its job (which might as well be the case too, but the O2 sensor is the first thing to try). With a code scanner with live data stream you can see the voltages coming from the O2 sensors. Power steering fluid - Dexron 2 or 3 automatic transmission fluid. Yes transmission fluid. And while you are at it check the fluid level in the transmission.
Since you got the hood up, check the brake fluid, wiper fluid, radiator fluid, battery fluid, oil level.

I have a 4 cyl 2001 toyota camry. I hear a ticking/tapping

I have a 4 cyl 2001 toyota camry. I hear a ticking noise which sounds like it's originating from the engine compartment. The noise is RPM sensitive -- it speeds up as the tach climbs.

Now, I say ''ticking noise'' for lack of a better description. I'm at a loss to describe this any better. It's not an obnoxious tick, but it is audible, especially under acceleration.

I was told that the lifters need adjusting...oil pressure is good..oil light never came on..what do you think the problem is?

if the oil level is ok,and the noise is coming from the top of the engine i would think also in the lifters,if is from the bottom, then the problem is in the crankshaft bearings, either way that would cost you some good money to fix it,i would recomend to add STP or Lucas engine restore to help the engine to lubricate better, they dont fix the problem but help to run you engine for a lots of more miles before you come up with some resourses to fix it wich is only possible replacing the parts, they cant be adjusted

The plastic pull on the top of the seat may have been screwed down too much. If that happens, it will not allowing the lock mechanism to fully unlock. Unscrew the top plastic pull a little at a time and at the same time reach around and pull the lock leaver up until it is in the full unlock position. You should then be able to pull the plastic lever up normally and fold down the seat.
