why do you think its off, , eyes on marks? or strobe light or? what? old oil turns black , on purpose. so it dont fill the engine full of gunk. dont run oil for 5k miles. 3k on high mileage engines. max. the belt can fail because > 1: over 60kmiles? 2: not a gate belt but in fact a fleabay-china $5 belt. 3: cam cog bent. 4: someone set the tension wrong, (top cause , RTM) 5:oil leaks to belt , belt dies early death. 6: running no cover, or cover is cut to ribbons, letting sand and gravel kill the belt in short order 7: spraying belt with belt dressing, bad to the bone that. 8:: im sure there are are other ways to kill it early, but i give up. 9: oops one more , the last joker, failed to put the head to block guide pins back, now the 2 cogs are misaligned, and belt dies. early. seem all ways, ask me... what engine, there are many used, over the world on RAV4. my guess 2.0 L 3S-FE I4 (petrol) 2.0 L 3S-GE I4 (petrol)

it is missfire and the CEL glows, and you scan it and get P030x. errors. right? first turn it up , then see if misfiring ends. that is first. spending big cash diagnosing a non serviced car is over the top.

name the lights, inside and outside that are dead. lots of lights. there are, just park alone is 20 + the radio is dead? all functions, A/M FM, CD , or ? that is a blown fuse. fuses must be tested, because: 1: fuses that look bad are. 2: fuses that look good can in fact be bad, (hair line cracks) some radios, have their own fuses. very common if radio is not stock.

The front engine oil seal is leaking oil into the timing cover.

catastrophic failure , DO NOT DRIVE so find leak, see leak location, that is BAD. MC (master cylinder) or slaves (calipers or drum cylinders. or hoses. and this is bad why? as long as it shuts off with the key..

A smog check/diagnostic at a reputable shop should reveal any catalytic converter problems. As far as random cylinder firing, there are several things which might present problems. I will list a few for you to consider: 1. Engines with higher mileage often have carbon deposits built up on the piston,valves, cylinder head,etc. When hot from running, these deposits can result in unexpected detonations of combustion chamber. 2. Condition of spark plug wires: old wires may "leak" meaning allowing current through the insulator. Also, sometimes wires run parallel to each other for a distance can create inductive firing out of order. 3. Spark plugs with deposits can cause detonation out of sequence. 4. Valve lash out of specification or worn cam can allow hot gases to detonate chambers. Sticky valves/guides may not be seating (closing) properly.

could be plugs,wires,oxygen sensor

First place to check would be the fuse panels which qre usually located in the kick panels. Your owners manual will tell you which fuses to check.

could be a worn serpintene or possibly the timing belt is wearing out and slipping
