knock sensor is located near crankshaft pulley(lower engine assembly)

Gently pry up the plastic around the window switches. It's usually two clips that hold on the switch panel, but some Toyota's window switch panels are held in with a clip at one end and a "finger" at the other end, careful prying on the finger end as it will break. Use the pry and peek technique. The switch itself will likely be held in with snaps or Phillips head screw's. If its the snaps type, CAREFULLY insert something like a butter knife under the snap on one side and pull that side out a few mm, repeat process on the other side without snapping back in the side you just freed. You should now have the switch in your hand. If you ignored the thin butter knife part and shoved a flathead screwdriver in there instead, the snaps are probably broken and will d drove you crazy every time you push down on the switch to hard and it falls into the door panel..

You need to take it to an auto mechanic so they can pull the error codes from the car's computer. If you want to save some money, most auto parts stores will be able to pull the codes for free. Just call ahead to see if they offer that service. Your car is probably perfectly safe to drive (unless you notice that something is wrong). Most likely the problem is with the emmisions system, so your car might not be getting the best gas mileage.

Its a dealer only part, usually called a strap.A Toyota dealer should be able to show you an exploded view of the door and point it out.

You might have a bad deceleration sensor or possibly a bad connection between the sensor and the module.

Took me a minute to figure out what "number plate" is. Normally the license plate lamp circuit is on with the tail lamp circuit.So if the tail lamps work the problem may be in the wiring.
