Idles up and down when

You most likely have a leaking power brake booster. This will cause a vacuum leak every time you step on the brake. If you listen, you will probably hear the "hissing" inside the vehicle when this happens.

do you mean stub axle ?? if so then i would take it to a local garage as it not a difficult job but it does require a few tools ,if i had seen this question yesterday i could have sent you a complete car for spares ,the big ends had gone and it wasnt worth repairing but the autobox was ok and the rest of the car customer didnt want it repaired and i had to pay the scrapyard 50 euros to come and pick it up

Engine increases rpm when brake pedal is depressed

Inspect brake booster vacuum line from engine intake to brake booster for leaks also inspect brake booster check valve, more than likely your brake booster is causing a vacuum leak to your Intake thus leaning mixture wich increases idle rpm

1990 toyota pickup, squeaks when i accelerate in

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Yes it can be the u-joint or cross joint. If they are worn out they tend to grind or squeak. Do check the oil on the differential too to avoid breakage.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Sounds like a clunking noise, like the sound you

its a wheel bearing. .will need to be inspected to determine the correct one. Also tires could also do this if the steel seperated internally. Rotate the suspected tire to see if it follows the tire.

I have a 1990 toyota

Try replacing fuel pump and fuel filter. It sounds like connections at fuel pump are loose, corroded or the pump itself has gone bad.

What causes the truck die

did it run fine before the timing ( did you have to replace the chain or belt, tensioners ?) I would re-check the cam timing as it sounds like the timing is off by one cam gear notch.

My truck starts and runs but at low rpms it dies.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Looks like that you have a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). If the TPS is faulty the car tends to have a low rpm which may result to stalling. I strongly suggest that you have the TPS replaced to resolve the problem.

Hope you find this information helpful enough and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
