The speedometer don't work. how can i fixe it myself?
Slide underneath, locate the speedo cable on the side / top of the transfer box. It looks about 1/2 diameter and has a knurled nut on the drive end that may need a pair of grips to release. When you have the cable out you will see a tab or square on the end, pull on this and if the wire core comes out and is less than the distance to the dash then the inner has twisted off. Get online to a parts house, sort out your make model year etc and see what cables are offered. It can't be repaired and needs changing as a unit. If you don't know how to remove the dash to get at the top end then seek experienced help. Write down your radio codes before disconnecting the battery.
Did trans swap from a/t to manual on 1993 toyota 4runner now boggs at 2200rpm
When you swapped the trans, there is usually several extra small hoses associated with the various vacuum demands of an auto. Have you blocked or removed them?
Have a look at the plug colour when it runs, are they a nice mid brown? If they are light brown to white/grey then you have a weak mixture most likely from an open smog or vacuum port. There is usually a hose from the inlet down to the trans so vacuum allows the auto trans to change up, is it open? Go back through your work in steady stages and you may find the cause.
Why when i turn ignition switch over it just clicks than if i turn it off than back on the engine starts
Hello,
I had a similar problem with my 1993 V6 4Runner a few years ago. In my case it started in the Fall season and only got worse as the weather got colder (meaning that I had to turn the key several times before the motor would start). I replaced the battery which helped for a while, but eventually the same thing kept on happening. The electrical contacts in the starter were the problem. They get worn down over time. When the starter motor spins, it wears the brass/copper contacts and eventually they wear out. I decided to replace them myself (pain in the tush) but only spent $35 compared to the $700 estimate I got from Toyota.

Falls on face at 4000 rpm in any gear/ wont idl
Why did you replace all this gear if you hadn't determined the cause?
Carry out all the first step checks before you spend any more. Check all the cylinder pressures. Check the timing with a clip on strobe. Mark the crank pulley with typing fluid to get a good reflection. You should see the basic degree mark at idle then when revved up a bit(2000) you should see the mark move away from the idle position as the revs increase.
Have you checked all the smog equipment, a small vacuum leak can cause a poor response. What colour are the plugs? Are they a nice coffee brown and all the same? If not then there is a further clue to poor running. You don't say if it's auto, then check anything connected to the trans.
Do as many checks as you can with a few tools and some help and if that fails to reveal anything then seek more knowledgeable help.
93 4runner slow throttle response or no throttle response and shakes
Hi I'm Peter, First air , fuel ignition is what keeps it going. Pull the air filter out and make sure it
's not clogged up. Next when was the last time you replaced the fuel filter, put some safety glasses on and lay to the side when you remove the filter to keep fuel spilling on you, once you have it off take a clean container and dump the fuel out of the inlet end them blow air through the outlet end into the container. You may see a lot of dirt but make sure there is no water. if you don't mind a little mess then you can hold a container over the end of the fuel line coming from the tank and have someone turn the key on for a second just to see if fuel pumps out to verify the pump is operational. Install a new fuel filter, turn the key on so the pump can build up pressure in the line and start the engine. it may take a couple of tries to get the air out. Test it see if it revs up and take it for a drive to make sure everything is OK. If this isn't it then check back and let me know if or what it's doing. Oh yes the filter is designed to go on one way so make sure you have it going in the right direction.
