I have a 97 Toyota

Check you transmission fluid for proper levels. If ok, have the transmission oil and filter changed!! If that doesnt remedy the issue, its possible the transmission needs to be replaced or rebuilt!!

How do i remove valve

The bolts for the valve cover are atop the spark plug chambers. Locate all 4 spark plug wires, remove them and you will notice large bolts around the top part of the spark plug chamber. You may use an adjustable wrench to loosen. It is very easy and takes about 15mins to perform.

The idle air control (IAC) valve can cause this. Before anything Rav4 has tendencies to have vacuum leak causing unnecessary high RPM look and feel along the airfilter duct for anything broken or torn

Depends on the noise you're getting, but that sounds like it might be a belt issue. They make a whiny, high pitched sound like a loud squeak especially at low rpm's.

Oil leaking on the right

I am trusting that you had replaced the gasket and that it was indeed sitting on there even and square with no chance of being twisted? If so, then you had also inspected the oil pan to ensure there were no hairline fractures from wear, tear or other age induced rust lines which could have had a leak originally? Lastly, the pan on this model fits on one way only or could be on backwards - hey not sure, just an idea.. as you see,. stuff happens...
Best regards

How to replace the light

There should be some screws to remove the outside cover of the gear shift. Then the shift indicator P,R, N, D, etc should snap off. Then there is the light bulb housing underneath that indicator.

I have a 1997 toyota

Hi

Is it a clunk clunk clunk noise? Then you have a CV joint that needs to be replaced. This is called the CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT, and helps you turn the wheel when it is in motion.

It has ball bearings inside and when the housing wears out, they make that clunking noise.

See your mechanic for a change and see if you can replace both wheels at the same time.

Hope that helps.

Happy motoring.

I have the light up

That means that the center differential is locked, making it 4-wheel drive, but restricting the tightness of turns that it can take. You should not operate it on dry pavement or above 45mpg in C DIFF LOCK mode or it could damage the car.
To turn it off, drive it to a level spot, stop, and press the button to turn it off. Drive a few feet forward and wait for the tone to go off. If necessary, put it in revers, drive backward a few feet and then go forward. That should turn the tone off and the light.

1997 toyota rav 4 hood

It may be that the hood release cable has streched so there is no tension when pulling the leaver. Try to reach reach above the lever and pull the cable making it less slack and then pull the lever all the way up with your other hand and hopefully this will open it, if this works i suggest replacing it before it stretches even more or snaps and you wont get it open..

My 1997 Toyota Rav 4 is driving more and more

this is sounding very dangerous,it will need to be checked very soon ,i would suspect the lower front suspension arm may need replacing on the damaged side, and maybe even the top arms too ,its very difficult to know without seeing it underneath ,i sell these parts for a firm in my country and these are the usual faults in these fine vehicles,i would also suggest you get a wheel alignment done by a tyre company and they will advise you what is wrong from that as they will be adjusting everything under there to achieve their desired result ,please have this sorted quickly as you may crash if something comes loose under your RAV 4 ,this can be very serious if its left to itself ,you will lose control of your vehicle if it happens so get it sorted ASAP
THANK YOU for using FixYa
