2000 Toyota Tundra - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7 engine. I
the code reader would have identified which bank it pertained to so have the code read again
if the same shop say differently , take it to another place and have it read for free then comment with the code reported
you can then go on line to autodata web page and have the code identified

Some time when you got new sensor s they have to be coded so the cry recognise them and some after market items aren't as good so try and get an oe part.

Engine dies when put in drive
Have you checked to see if you have any codes in the engine control module ? Even if the light is not on, it will store codes which are not a major problem.
Have you done any routine maintenance to your car lately, like a tune up ? Have you checked your air filter ?

Need to get + and - power from the overhead map light/door switch in my 2000 tundra to tie in a backup camera. I have the assembly down.
Usually one of them is controlled by the body module...when the door switch senses the door is open the bcm provides either + or - ...the other one is always thwr. This means if you pull power from the dome light there will only be power if the door is open. It would be better to pull power from either the fuse box or even from the radio harness. The ground can come from any good clean ground bolt. The + needs to come from something that switches on with the key so the camera only works when the ignition is on. Both should be available at the radio harness for easier access. Check Www.modifiedlife.com they have an excellent resource for the stereo wiring harness.

4.7l. Why is there no power at throttle actuator?
If you confirmed already that you don't have the proper voltage coming from the power end of the throttle body actuator then you have to trace your wires back to where they meet the power distributor whether it's another plug or another wire or if its going directly to the computer and make sure that the source has the proper voltage coming out I’m happy to assist further over the phone at
