Id the Prius economical? Sure. They are great little cars, and the gas mileage is tremendous. Some of my customers are reporting up to 50 MPG on trips...pretty good gas mileage.

Error Code: P3030 Description: Disconnection between battery and ECU. The battery ECU monitors a voltage of the battery blocks to detect an open malfunction in internal battery voltage sensor circuits of the battery ECU and the wire harness between each battery block and battery ECU. If a voltage at one of the battery blocks is below a standard level or of all the battery blocks is within a specified range, the battery ECU judges that there is an open in the internal sensor circuit(s) or wire harness. The battery ECU then illuminates the MIL and sets a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code). Trouble Area: - Junction Block Assembly (Bus Bar Module). - Frame wire number 2, (Bus Bar and wire harness). - Battery ECU.

you've probably burt out the coil, there is enough in it to start briefly but not stay running, start there.

It is your Hybrid Traction Battery. P3006 refers to a problem in cell number 6. It will need to be replaced or rebuilt. You can do it yourself with a replacement module from eBay. Watch some videos on youtube.

Hello, the first thing I would recommend that you buy a repair manual that shows step by step instructions, with illustrations I can't do that here. You'll need some common metric tools and a voltmeter, there are high voltages involved and you will need to wear insulated gloves rated at least to 1000 volts DC to prevent severe injury or possibly death. The actual replacement is not that difficult: Disconnect the 12 volt auxiliary battery disconnect the orange service plug on the hybrid battery and tape the connector on the battery remove the rear seat and the seat back braces remove the trunk carpet and the spare tire cover remove the two orange cables going to the front measure dc voltage at the terminals where the cables were removed there must be less than 1 volt. remove the 12 mm bolts that connect the battery to the body including the torx bolt slide the battery back and have someone help to lift it out.

The Prius come woth a custom built Li-ion battery and there is no way that you can replace it by yourself. It is better to contact the Service centre to get it done. They will get you the original battery and also complete the replacement within a day. The battery is located in a T-shape structure beneath the driver seat and through the middle of the passenger section.

its a prius. take it in, lost of things to go wrong with any hybrid, due to huge complexity. if serious DIY, and feel compelled to get shocked on HV? then read the FSM buy it ran read all the pages on 3000 and on how not to get shocked and killed. do so , dont guess study the book. or go there, first google hit for 3000, read this ? http://priuschat.com/threads/code-p3000.49355/ could it not just be, that you didnt follow the battery swap instructions in the FSM then trip these/ reset them and see if they come back.
