There are several possible causes for this code. Yes, it COULD be that there is damage inside the transmission that will require transmission removal and overhaul. However, I have fixed this code a number of times by simply replacing the shift SL solenoid which is mounted externally on the transmission housing.

The power steering works off the engine, so if engine not running, no power steering. It sounds like to me that a good place to start would be the fuel filter. If the fuel filter is plugged, it may allow enough fuel to go through to run the vehicle for a few minutes but not allow enough through to sustain continued operation. The fuel pump is also a consideration.

1 and 4 fire off same coil so i would feel conifedent saying either the wires or the coil is bad we do several coils at the dealership please rate this info

It could be that the rear collision sensors (or any of the other ones were damaged in the collision). They work as a system so if one is down, it may effect the others. The dealer can diagnose and reset if there isn't any damaged sensors. Before you take it to them, try to determine if the wiring harness under the seats might be unplugged or corroded. It's not uncommon after a collision.

We have no wiring diagrams so I suggest you ask the dealer for a detailed cost breakdown to see why they want such a large amount of money to fix this problem. Seems very high and I am a retired dealer technician.

They had a recall on the computer on this car . The fuel pump would shut down and what the problem was is a cracked computer board.Call the dealer with your vin number in hand. Providing its the fuel pump. More info on whats goin on.
