Tip & How-To about 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

Car will not crank during cold weather. (no clicking or noise in attempting to start)

My car would not start during cold weather, I replaced battery and starter, but did not fix problem. I found that the problem is the ignition switch, I could get it to work by banging around the ignition switch and holding the key in the start position.

2002 ford expedition not starting after freeze weather

It's possible that the cold weather may have caused some issues with your 2002 Ford Expedition not starting. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the battery: Cold weather can drain the battery, so it's worth checking to make sure the battery is charged and in good condition. You can do this by using a multimeter or by taking it to an auto parts store to have it tested.
  2. Check the fuel system: If the fuel pump or fuel filter is frozen, it could be preventing the engine from starting. You can try using a fuel system de-icer or checking the fuel lines for any visible damage.
  3. Check the spark plugs: Cold weather can cause the spark plugs to become fouled, which can prevent the engine from starting. You can try cleaning the spark plugs or replacing them if they are worn out.
  4. Check the starter and ignition system: The starter and ignition system are responsible for starting the engine, so if they are not functioning properly, the engine may not start. You can try tapping the starter with a hammer to see if it will start, or you can have the starter and ignition system checked by a mechanic.
If these suggestions do not help, it may be best to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic to identify and fix any other issues that may be causing the problem.

1991 f 250 when starting during cold weather starter sticks to the run postion and ignition i can turn back and forth and truck will not shut off until starter burns out

IT sounds to me like the solenoid is sticking. Follow the large wire up from where it bolts onto stater and the next thing that wire is bolted to is the solenoid.

Dodge nitro wont start or turn over. The battery checks out ok. what could be causing problem??

Is this an intermitting problem only occure during dry and cold weather?
Behind the ignition key lock there is a module call Wireless Control Module (WCM). When this module is zap by static eletricity build up during cold weather (via the key). It will hang just like you computer.
As a test please please touch the key to a metal object to discharge the static on the key before insert it into the ignition.
If the problem stop complete then you can take it to the Dodge dealer the arrange service on the Wireless Control Module (WCM) or wire for better grounding.
