Tip & How-To about 2001 Cadillac Eldorado

Stop and smell the roses

Vehicles are forever changing, its always a learning curve. so keep an open mind, always start with the cheapest way to find and fix the problem. there is nothing wrong with junk yards. and listen to all views because in between you may find the answer. sometimes keep it simple stupid is a great way to work on cars. they can be aggravating. and expensive. but in what was a great country, we are reduced to a shadow of the great industrial nation we were!. so we must make do for many many yrs to come. :( green energy cars are never going to be mainstream, at least not in the next 75 yrs. so get used to junk yards folks. hang on to your stuff it will be worth it. call me what u will, im a realist. and your feeling it already. how many of u can go buy a chevy volt? or survive the exploding batteries.lol seriously learn from those who know cars. they are worth there weight in gold. so listen to anyone who wants to give u knowledge about internal combustion engines. time tested!!!

possibly the learning curve of the new computer. you must drive the vehicle around in certain conditions based on manufacturers specs. drive the vehicle for about a half hour some wide open throttle for a few where allowable and steady highway speed as well. theres a learning curve as called that the computer must go through in order to calibrate the engine.

I have a 02 Monte Carlo. I have changed crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, starter, fuel pump, engine module, f-p filter, tune up and the car still stalls and dies.. I have had the crankshaft learning procedure done on a diagnostic comp., and still the car dies any suggestions please. Car will crank, fire, idle, go about 3 blocks r.p.m's jump, putts, then die... Then takes forever to fire back up, Then won't idle... Any suggestion would be great already put a small fortune in it.

Did The OBDII scan of the stored fault history, indicate all of the parts you changed were bad. The TPS (throttle position sensor) is the only sensor that is subject to physical wear and age (2002). A dirty air filter will put the MAF (mass airflow sensor) out of range. Always let the stored fault history be your guide to any repairs to avoid buying parts you don't need. Also be aware of the low oil sensor function, it will disable the ignition if more than a quart low. Always do the cheapest fixes first.

TRANSMISSION STICKS SHIFTING GEARS

Modern transmissions require regular ATF automatic transmission fluid changes. Of ten the interval is around every 36,000 miles. I recommend changing the ATF and see if the condition improves. If the ATF is really dirty drive the vehicle for 1000 to 2000 miles and change it again. I always start with the cheapest fixes first. Hope this helps.

how often should i change a 2005 F-150 Truck is oil? Can you suggest me what to do to keep a 2005 F-150 Truck in good health?

change the oil every 6000 miles and a oil filter every third oil change and it will run for ever ,use the cheapest oil preferably a petrol/diesel 10'/40 but the cheapest from the supermarket will suffice ,this will keep the internal workings of the engine clean and free from combustion clag .Never mind the salesman with their long life last forever oil at a silly price ,its all the same at the end of the day and dont worry about sinthetic or natural ,just use whatever comes along cheap ,you can even mix them with no detrimental effect.Even print this off and show it to the salesman if you like thats trying to sell you something you do not need ,i used to work in ford of dagenahm engine plant testing the oil as part of my job ,running a engine flat out till it blows up and then see what caused it ,just change it as stated and this truck will still be around when both of us are pushing up daiseys

apparently there is a problem with the immobiliser system in my car, the toyota company that is fixing it said there are four different types of immobilisers in it and they think it is the the key reader, they said they need to get a new key reader valued at $286, Can they not just re program the key??

im sure they COULD, but there not going to, they always want to see how much money they can **** out of you before you change your mind about letting them fix your car, one of the cheapest ways to fix this is just to remove the alarm system all together, PLUS!!!!!!!!!! the 98 corolla doesnt even come equipped with a key reader, your dealership is messing with you, take it to a mechanic... key readers are only installed on vehicles with electronic keys, and your key definitely doesnt have a chip in it, good luck
