Tip & How-To about Ford Ranger

Extend dash lights bulb life.

If you are like me, burned out dash lights drive me nuts. Removing a dash from a modern car to get to them takes time and patience. Tip 1: once you do that replace all the bulbs to keep from having to do this again in the near future. Tip 2: Instead of burning your dash lights full intensity, use the dimmer switch for a lower setting. Less voltage to those bulbs will greatly extend their life. Hopefully all your dash lights are working, and this tip will save you money, time, and aggravation!

On most models, you can disconnect the dogbone mount and pull the engine forward a few inches. Make sure the parking brake is set and the trans is in neutral.

1994 Escort: dashlights burned out how do you replace?...

Take the plastic off around the steering column and take the nuts off that hold the steering column in place, once you get the column dropped down you take all the screws out of the dash and then you can get to the lights, replace all of them because you don't want to do this again.
