Tip & How-To about Chevrolet Blazer

Spark Plugs

When changing the spark plugs on your automobile make sure to change them one at a time and replace the plug wire at the same time, on the new cap so that you don't get them crossed. As you attach the wire to the new plug make sure to replace it on the cap at the same time. This will save you a lot of trouble later, you won't have to try to figure out the motors firing order.

my truck is missing alot. I was told that I needed my plugs changed. How do I get to the plugs. I don't see them any where.

Follow the spark plug wires from your distributor cap to your spark plugs. Be sure to replace one at a time so you get the firing order correct. And be sure and gap your new plugs before you install them. Might want to check your distributor cap and rotor while your at it. Be sure that you do not get the wires mixed up. You can number (or otherwise) mark them with a pen and some medical (white) tape to be sure you know where to put them back if you do change your distributor cap and rotor. Good luck. Let me know if this helps. Thanks

change spark plug wire

Buy the correct set of wires for your vehicle from an auto parts store, open your hood, remove and replace one wire at a time, with a new wire of the same lenght, from the box of new ones. Make sure you press the new wires firmly onto the spark plugs and distributor cap terminals until they snap on.

my 1990 chevy pickup just stopped running.

there should be 2 clips on from the rotor housing to the cap, pull the clips off and lift the cap, you will want to change the rotor inside as well. do not remove the spark plug wires from the old cap yet...replace the rotor, it will only go on one way, and put new cap on, it too should only go one way. now, one at a time, pull the plug wires and put them on the new cap that is mounted. this will ensure that you have them in the right order.
