Tip & How-To about Toyota RAV4

Windows and windshield fogs up in the winter

The real solution is to turn on and up the fans BUT you must use the fresh air from outside instead of recycled air. This is done by selecting or deselecting it using its own button. On my Toyota 2006 RAV 4, there's a button you push which is on the center of the climate control knob. By pushing it, you are using fresh air instead of the air being recycled. Any questions, let me know.

Vz comm air coming out of vents when recycle switch is on

It will do. recycle means the same air is recycled through system. Great when noxious smells or dust outside and when operating aircon. When recycle off you get fresh air from outside car coming in.

Heater blows won't get hot

Hi.

Technically, that's impossible. The heating system in your car gets its heat from the engine. If the engine is running, then it will generate heat and there's no stopping that. The only thing that would prevent the heat from getting into the air that's blowing into the car is if the air selector is set to "Recycle" instead of "Fresh".

So, look at the controls for the heater and be sure that the air selector is pulling air from the outside and into the car.

I hope this helps.

How do I install a basic vent system to create air flow in my basement?

Your air circulation knob or switch has 2 settings ,recirculate and fresh air, turn to fresh air,put on cold and turn the fan on to your speed you want and air will circulate from the outside to the vents, put it on mid level.

the heater and a/c is pulling in fumes from outside on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2005

Maybe because the dash setting is set for "fresh" ...

If you do not want to pull air from outside - set the controll for "recycle" and/or max
and then it will resycle the cabin air rather than pull in outsde air..

If you have the controll set for "recycle" and/or max and you are sstil getting outside air - there might be something wrong with a fuse, or a relay..

Hope this helps !!
