How to ensure you get a non leaking Intake manifold and other things on chevys

I have ran into many chevys and other vehicles where I change the gasket and still have leaking then I came accross a method that allowed me to get it done right and have no leaks. There is a gasket tacking glue that you buy from your local auto parts store its called 3M weatherstripping and gasket sealer (YELLOW). Once you have the intake manifold or whatever your replacing the gasket on make sure you clean it throughly because any oil or substance on it the seal will most likely leak. Use a gasket scraper, then a razor blade then take carb or brake cleaner and spray in on a rag and wipe it down throughly make sure its dry. Then use a small amount of the 3M to attach the gasket to the intake surface then you can use silicone on the front and back of the intake instead of using the gaskets they give you for the front and back, The silicone you have to use is called nissan silicone which can be bought at the nissan dealership if thats not available get the toyota silicone from toyota. Put a large bead in the corners and make a large bead accross the front and back now wait about 5 to 10 minutes the silicone will get a flat black color to it with toyota and with the nissan it will just stiffin a little. Then bring the manifold down right over the bolt holes and press down firmly get all the bolts started then tighten from the middle to the front and back diagnally. Once torques normally around 20ft pounds look up in your manual let it setup for as long as you can perferably 12 hours but atleast 1 hour then your done no leaks and perfect seal. This silicone can be used to seal up alot of other leaks as well like valve covers thermostat housings ect. The 3M is absolutely wonderful for getting the gaskets set in place and will save you alot of time and money.
