Tip & How-To about Ford Explorer

Immobilisor

One picture is worth a thousand words ,well here is how to bypass the explorer bosch built in factory alarm .Fist you have to drill the the immobilisor out or the bodywork its situated at the back drivers side LHD vehicles behind the back seat above the wheel arch behind all the paneling .Once you have found it then disconnect it first and then drill the rivits out that hold it all in place ,then under the plastic box is three screws that hold the case together ,then you will have to solder the earth connection to all the points as in the photograph and it will start ,Well it should but the one iam working on at the moment is still not getting fuel so i may have to hotwire the fuel pump direct but at the moment iam still working on the vehicle but the dark defeated me .Anyway as and when i sort the fuel pump out i will modify this tip although it could be the fuel cut off switch caused by the journey on the breakdown truck. So iam not entirely sure but i do have it turning over and a nice spark so iam almost their i think and another hour or so tomorrow i will have it sorted somehow or someway .Well i found out how to get the fuel pump to work you have to drop the fuel tank ond on top of the pump is a frequency controlled switch with 4 wires running to it ,cut the two bigger wires and join then together and then it will fire up this frequency switch doesnt allow the power through till it gets the right signal from the alarm unit so joining the tow wires together defeats it ,leave the thin wires in place they dont need touching -

1999 Ford explorer i need to bypass lights & beable to drive & or have lights turn off

You don't cut, bypass or modify any vehicle

You diagnose the issues and return it to
factory built specs

I believe you have a module that controls all that
Just take to a repair shop

I have a 1996 ford Explorer with single button on key fob and it has stopped working can I Bypass the alarm/immobilser and take it out of the system alltoghether

if its a factory alarm you can not bypass it, it goes through the computer however a one botton alarm is usually an aftermarket starter diable try finding the starter relay if it looks different replace it with a regular relay if its not just a relay you might want to look under the dash for a smaller size box and find the name of the alarm company and look on there website on how to disable it
